Field experience started three weeks later and fancy footwork needed to be done regarding Val's supervisions and sleeping arrangements. She still ended up with me more often than not. It wasn't too bad because she switched nights between Dimitri and me in Christian's room. Christian had finally gotten used to her (as had the rest of the group) and found my mini-me-in-attitude's antics as amusing (and slightly annoying) as mine. The two got along reasonably well, and he was treating her like the niece she was (using family terms in the loose way royals did).

Victor's trial came around a month after Spokane and daughter loved Court but hated the courtroom. Understandably, our gorgeous girl wasn't yet two. The charm didn't come up because it hadn't created the desired delay. He also got nothing out of 'outing' us because Tatiana and all of society knew because of Valya's bending the space-time continuum.
