Journal entry 1:
January 12, 2011
Age 10
Hello journal, today I met this boy named Colby brock. He is a very cool kid. We went on the swings, and went sledding it was fun. I seen some bruises on his back and arms though. I didn't want to ask about it.
When it was time to go home he helped me carry my sled. We laughed and talked. I found out his mother and father both worked a lot and that they left for a few days. It was sad to hear.
We went over to my house. We sat there drinking hot chocolate. My mom made us some, she also added some heated milk and marshmallows it was good. My mother kept asking him questions and was happy to know I made a new friend.
Colby asked me a few questions about my family. If I had any siblings? If I liked girls? If I liked boys? I was confused on what kind of questions these were but I answered anyway.
We stayed at my house warming up and having a good time. We played board games and we watched movies. It was nice.
I enjoyed his company. I'm glad that I made a new friend like Colby. Anyways it's getting late I should head to bed.
