~(Y/N)~

I had never thought I'd be the only one putting all the effort into a relationship, I was always told that it takes two to make a relationship work. But here I was watching the man I had thought I loved in the arms of another woman, not even thinking for a second about how I could be feeling.

Before I was never the jealous type, but now that I had the man I planned to marry in my grasp, I didn't want to let him go, even if it meant I was the one doing all the work to make this so-called relationship succeed.

My friends said it was unhealthy and that I should break up with Levi, but I ignored their advice and stayed by his side hoping he'd come to realize how much I loved him. But this isn't just about me, it's about him too.

One night after arguing about moving to a new apartment Levi had found himself camped out on my couch in my one-bedroom studio. Our fights were becoming more frequent and over stupid little things.

Just the other day I had yelled at him for not doing a simple task and he left the apartment, he said he had stayed at a friend's house. Tonight I managed to keep him here under my watchful eye. Levi and I had been together for nearly three years, the best years of my life until recently.

It felt as if we had grown apart, recently when we would attend parties hosted by close friends I'd find him in the arms of another, and when I would bring it up he'd shut me out and say it was nothing, and to stop acting so childish. He once told me he belonged to me and I belonged to him.

His words gave me some reassurance but lately, I had felt his words lost meaning. Turning on my back I looked up at the ceiling, past owners had put glow in the dark sticker stars and had never taken them down. Usually, on nights where I couldn't sleep, I'd count them.

Silently counting to myself I began to feel slightly drowsy, when I finished counting them all I repeat until I fall asleep. One by one I looked at each star and counted them off, getting slower and slower each time before finally falling into darkness for the night.

~Next Day~

I had awoken to a door shutting. Opening my eyes partially I found the dreamcatcher on the back of my front door swaying back and forth from being recently closed. Levi must have already left for work.

Pushing myself up off my mattress I swing my legs off the edge and sit there in my tank top and shorts. Sliding off the bed I land on the cold wooden floors. Stepping over into my small kitchen that was not so far away, I get on my tiptoes and open the cabinet pulling out a coffee mug.

Most morning Levi had already left for work. He had been doing it for about a month now, and wouldn't get back until late into the evening. But tonight we'd be going to a party together. My friend Petra was having a baby shower. Her and Oluo were going crazy planning it and I convinced Levi to tag along. I had my outfit all planned out for tonight. I was excited for the first time in a long time.

~Time Skip~

Levi and I stood outside our front door. Turning I fixed his shirt and pecked him on the cheek. He stared down at me with a dull expression as if my affections bored him. Ignoring his expression I turn around and head downstairs.

Once down in the lobby I rush out and get into the taxi to avoid the rain. Levi got in after me and sat on the opposite end of the car. I'm so tired of trying. Shaking my head I look out the window as the taxi began to drive through the city. The rain hit the window and my eyes followed the drops as they slid down the side.

By the time we reached Petra's apartment building I had moved right next to Levi. Quickly he got out and ran inside. Following behind we rushed up to the third floor. Opening the door he stepped in, before I could enter I was caught in between the door and frame. Not even in the apartment yet and Levi had already got lost in the crowd.
