An Alpha is my Mate

Chapter 22

Ella POV:

I woke up feeling cold because I couldn't feel Amelia next to me anymore. I got out of bed and took a quick shower. The warm water felt amazing against my skin.

Once I was done with my shower, I stepped out and dried off. The mirror was a bit fogged, but I was still able to see myself in it. My hands went to my belly and a smile broke across my face.

After just staring at myself in the mirror for a few minutes, I finally put on some clothes and went on the search to find Amelia.

I was still tired, but I can't sleep when she's not there with me. I smelled the air and caught her scent.

Her scent led me right to the door of her office. I pushed the door open and seen that she was behind her desk working.

When she is working, she be looking very tired and I can tell that she has been up for a while. I walked in and closed the door behind me.

"Couldn't stay sleep, my love?"

I shook my head no and walked over to her. Not caring what she was working on, I sat in her lap and laid my head against her chest.

She knew I wasn't going to move and got back to working on whatever she was doing the best she can.

"We still need to do something with that land we have now."

I knew what she was talking about, but I didn't care what we did with it. Well, I didn't until a thought popped in my head.

"We should tear it down and build a school. I know the kids have school here, but if we tear down some of the woods that's between us and that land the kids will be safe to go back and forth to school."

When she didn't say anything, I looked up at her and seen that she was in deep thought about what I had said.

"That sounds like a good idea. I'll talk with the pack members and see what they think about it as well."

"Well, if we are going to have a pack meeting about this then the kids need to be at this one as well because it's about them."

She nodded her head and I felt her open the pack link for everyone, not long after I heard her voice going through my head telling everyone that it will be a meeting tonight and the kids must attend.

When she got a yes alpha, she closed the link and got back to work. I never really knew what alphas do with their jobs, I only knew that they protect the pack and keep rogues away.

"What are you working on?"

"Just paying bills and going over the treaty again I had signed."

I nodded my head and laid back against her chest. I was super tired for some reason. Not long after I was falling asleep to the sound of her heartbeat.

I woke up on the couch of Amelia's office. I didn't freak out this time because she was sitting behind her desk. I laid there and stared at her, watching her lose herself in her work.

I wanted to lay there all day and just watch her, but my stomach started to growl causing her to look up at me.

She let out a chuckle and stood up from behind her desk walking over to me.

"You didn't eat when you first woke up."

It was more of a statement than a question, but I still shook my head no. She reached for my hand and helped me up.

Not long after we were heading toward the kitchen. When we got to the kitchen, she sat me down at the table and started moving around.

"What would you like to eat?"

"Pancakes."

That's what I was dreaming about the whole time I was asleep. I feel fat but I wanted the pancakes that I was dreaming about.

I heard her chuckle, but she started getting the stuff out to make pancakes. When I saw that she had everything that she needed a big smile came across my face and I started humming.

When she was finished, she placed the plate in front of me with syrup, I poured almost the whole bottle on the pancakes. I would have kept going if Amelia didn't take the syrup from me.

I let out a sigh and started eating. Less than 5 minutes they were gone, and I wanted more. I gave Amelia my puppy eyes and she was shaking her head.

"I am not making more."

I kept staring at her hoping she will give me what I want. She got up and I was hoping she was going to make more but no she came back with grapes. I do love grapes, so I guess I can settle for this.

I took them and started eating them humming to myself. For some reason, I felt super happy and I'm sure I looked like some child who just got what they had been asking for, for so long.

I heard a noise coming from the living room and I grab my grapes going toward the living room with Amelia following behind me.

There in the living room, two-pack members fighting. I stood in the doorway and watched them.

One was pushed toward me and Amelia grabbed me out of the way, but I felt something on my stomach. I looked down and back up at Amelia. Before I knew it a scream left my lips from the pain that suddenly went through my body.

Amelia caught me in her arms, and I heard her yelling at people to get the doctor and make sure a room is ready.

She was running through the packhouse and toward the doctor's office. I just wanted to sleep and hope that the pain would go away.

With that last thought, my eyes started to close, and soon all I saw was darkness.

Hello everyone, I knew this chapter is very short but I did my best to give you all a chapter since I am getting sick. All day I have been having the worse headache and a cold but I wanted to at least give you all an update for tonight.

I hope you enjoyed this short chapter and I'll try to make it longer next time.
