I stood silently as my younger sister growled at me. "I DON'T WHAT THAT MAN'S LAST NAME! NOT AFTER WHAT HE DID!" I couldn't blame her. Our father was a terrible man, I would have ditched the last name too if my siblings didn't leave me behind to deal with the abusive man and our meak mother. I had almost glad when the lab took me away. Keyword, ALMOST. I looked at her wrists. They were heavily scarred from years of being chained up. Her neck and ankles were the same. Not to mention the signs of drug abuse. "Petrichor, I can't fault you. But you can't keep a hold on the past. He is long dead." I walked closer to her. She looked startled. "You don't have to forgive him. But you need to let it go. Your chance to beat him up has long passed." She sighed before hanging her head. I placed a hand on her head. "What do you want to do Petri." I could feel her hesitation, which wasn't like her. "I want to go home. I want to be safe for once." I sighed before I turned my head towards Crystal. She was far too young to know how horrifying her grandfather was nor how bloody my hands are. "Crystal? Ready to go home or do you want to snoop around more?" She shifted from foot to foot while avoiding my gaze. "I'd like to, look around a bit more. If that's ok." I chuckled a bit before nodding. "Alright. Be home earlier than 2 am little missy." She grinned at me before dashing out of the locker. "Come on, let's go to my house. It's better than sticking around here." I held out a hand for her. She gave me a suspicious look. "My family doesn't bite." I couldn't hold back a dark chuckle as she took my hand. "Much." Ah, the joys of being multilingual.
The ride to my home was mostly quiet. My sister has never been much of a talker so it was to be expected. It at least let me think. Alex- Petrachor has been missing for 10 years. No one knew where she was and for a long time, no one really cared. A few people looked for her but it was fruitless. Now she was here. It was clear something happened between her and our father but I wasn't quite sure what it was.
I sighed as I parked my car, truck? Mode of transportation. As I was pulling out my keys there was a jolt of electricity. "Ah! Hey! Petrichor!" I turned my head to see that she was fast asleep. "By the Goddess. Wake up, we are here." She groaned as I opened my door. "Wha? You live in a mansion? really?" I looked up at my grand white marble three-story mansion before shrugging. "Is that a bloody crystal fountain?!" I looked over at the small fountain. It was crude and lopsided, the water didn't always work but it was beautiful in its own way. As if it was a tree. "Well, ya. Actually, Crystal made that when she could control her abilities... Slightly." My eyes shifted over to the more symmetrical fountain made of many different kinds of gems with water flowed out freely. "Come on let's go inside. I'll show you a room you can use."
I opened the door and flipped on the chandler. Petri gasped as she walked inside my home. There were many paintings on the walls and pictures all over the walls. My younger sister ran past me and staired at Crystal's and Quartz's toddler photos. "These are... Your kids?" She looked at me. "Yes, you met Crystal. The boy is Quartz. He is probably sleeping or playing on his computer. You'll meet him tomorrow morning or noon." She nodded before staring at the pictures. I walked up the stairs before I realized she wasn't following me. "Are you coming?" She turned around before looking up at me. "Ah, y-ya." I sighed before continuing to walk up the stairs. 'She is going to be a handful.'
I walked her to the west wing, opposite of my children. "This is your room." I opened the door and let Petri in first. "It's not a very large bedroom but I'm sure you'd like it." The lights flickered to life. I'm pretty sure if Petrichor's anatomy allowed it, her jaw would be on the floor. "Not a very large room?! This is bigger than one of the cells! By like, by a lot!" She stood in the middle of the room and turned in a slow circle. "You know I'm claustrophobic. I hate being in small rooms." I was about 50% sure she didn't hear me. Currently, she had her head in the closet. "Hey, do you have any clothes I can borrow? I'm pretty sure your daughter's gym clothes aren't goin' cut it." I sighed before disappearing and reappearing with a pile of clothes. "Here, you can use these. Maybe tomorrow we can go get you clothes that will fit better." She looked at my chest and coughed a bit. "Ya, I'm probably not as, 'gifted' as you." I rolled my eyes at her before throwing the clothes at her. "Shut up and go to bed."
I opened my bedroom door, feeling slightly drained. It's been an eventful night. I didn't even bother changing out of my clothes before I flopped onto my bed. There was a faint groan from Proto. "Sorry, did I wake you?" He lifted his head slightly. His hair was a mess and there were faint circles under his eyes. "Hmph." I chuckled a bit before barring myself in the blankets. "By the way, I'm letting my sister live here for a bit." He shot up and looked at me. "What, why? Which one? The storm chick or the other one?" I shot him a look. "Petrichor, well actually Alex." He groaned and hugged me. "We'll deal with your crazy ass sister in the morning. I'm too tired for this shiiit." I snorted and bopped him on his head. "Technically, she is your sister in law." He groaned before shoving his face into a pillow. "You and your crazy family." Somehow, he managed to maneuver us so we were facing each other. "Love? Do you trust her? At all?" I thought about it while pressing down on his wrist joint. "No, I don't. But what else am I supposed to do Proto? Not like I can turn her away. If you see her, she looks like an animal that has been chained up." Proto took his arm back before brushing some hair our of my face. "Well, I trust you. And as long as she doesn't hurt you or our kids. I won't gut her🌸!" I snorted at his dark statement before I hugged him. "Goddess, why do I love you again?" He kissed my forehead. I could feel him smirking. "No idea. Must be my charms." I grabbed my pillow and smacked him in the head. Repeatedly. "Ah! Ok, ok, ok! Uncle! I surrender!" He took the pillow away from me and threw it somewhere into the dark. "Rude!" I laughed as Proto gave me a cheezy grin. "You better hope that didn't break anything 'honey'." My husband kissed my nose before checking to see if the pillow did break anything. 'That dork.' I closed my eyes. Thoughts plagued my mind. Why was she here now? Was this a trap? Did I make a mistake?
What now.
