Chapter 2 - How bad is it

Location: Hospital

*Beep beep beep*

I woke up to the sound of annoying beeping.

Groaning I looked around the room to see I was hooked up to machines. I'm in a hospital? Suddenly all of the event from before I blacked out came rushing back to me. Looking to my right I see Izuku sleeping.

Suddenly the door swings open. Which caused Izuku to wake up.

"(Y/N) sweetie. What happened? How did you get burned? Are you okay? Does it still hurt?" Mom shouted.

"Mom calm down. I'm okay. I just lost control of my fire quirk and I accidentally burnt myself. And no it does not hurt as bad anymore."

All of what I just said was 100% a lie. I know it is not heroic to lie but I can't make mom worry more then she already it. She deals with a lot of stress as it is.

"(Y/N) I'm so glad that you are okay. Do you need anything."

Okay good she didn't notice the lie.

"Yeah could I get some water please."

"Of course honey"

I was not thirsty but I know that Izuku would want to question me. So I needed to get her to leave the room.

Immediately after she left Izuku asked.
"Why did you cover for him."

"I really don't know. How bad is the burn." I asked scared of what his reply would be.

"It is kind of bad but it could of been worse. The doctor said that it didn't burn that many layers so it will heal fast but it will leave a scar." I sighed. "That is just great"

Sniff "I'm sorry. If it was not for me you would not be hurt. Maybe I am worthless."

I grabbed him by the shoulders. Ignoring the pain I felt from the sudden movement. "Don't you dare say that. I am fine. Plus it was my own action that got me here. You are not worthless cause you mean the world to me. You are my little brother and I will always protect you even if I get hurt. Stop crying. What would All might do in a situation like this."

"Smile."

"Exactly no matter how bad it gets always smile."

Knock knock knock

"Come in" I replied

It was mom and a doctor.

"Good evening Miss Midoriya I assume that your brother has informed you about what happened."

"Yeah he told me about the extend of the injury. But I have one question When will I be able to leave?" I asked.

"We would like to keep you over night to keep an eye on you then you can leave tommorow morning but you need to come in for check ups to see how you are healing and make sure it doesn't get infected."

"That is great. Thank you very much."

"No problem. A nurse will be by soon to give you dinner." After that he left.

Smiling I took the water from mom.

"Thanks. Hey mom you guys are going to go home tonight right."

"Yeah there is really no place to sleep here."

"Ok no problem. Have a great night. Love you both. See you tommorow."

Just as mom and Izuku were leaving the nurse came in with dinner. I ate. Watched tv. Then I went to bed.

*Next morning*
I checked out of the hospital then headed home. Izuku was already at school so I decided to just stay home and train trying to improve my quirks. I need to work my stamina so I can use my telekinesis more without getting tired.

*Time skip months later*

Izuku has been acting different. He has been very tired lately and he eats a lot more than he usually does. He has also been muttering during class. Maybe it is puberty? I guess I could ask him later.

After I finished my training I decided to talk to Izuku.

I knocked on his bedroom door. After hearing him saying come in. I open the door and closed it behind me. I sat on his bed.

"Hey Izuku you have been acting very weird lately. Is everything okay? And also where have you been going everyday after school?"

He started to get nervous "I uh I have been training at the gym."

I gave him a skeptical look but didn't push forward. I knew that he was lying I just don't understand why.

"Ok well. How has your training been going?" I asked

"Really good. How about yours?"

"Same I can use my telekinesis a lot more now without getting tired."

"Dinner is ready" Mom screamed from the kitchen

"Come on Izuku lets eat."
