Chapter 22 - Aftermath of hero killer Stain

I woke up in the hospital. I felt my head to feel a ice pack. My body temperature was still high.

"It's not even cold anymore." I groaned.

"Here let me help." Todoroki said as he got up and put his hand on my forehead.

A nice cold felling washed over my face.

"Thanks Todoroki, that feel so much better." I said sighing.

"Wow you really are hot." He said

I turned away blushing.

Does he even realize what he just said?

Todoroki didn't notice me blushing but Izuku and Iida did.

I shoot them a 'if you say anything I will kill both of you' look.

Gran torino, the chief of police and a pro hero came in.

The chief informed us that stain had bad injuries and that he is in the hospital.

He also explained that we had no authority to use our quirks.

"That means that the three of you, and your supervisors, Endeavor, Manual and Gran Torino, should receive harsh punishments for this gross abuse of your powers.

I stood up. "Sir with all due respect. There was really nothing that we could have done differently. Iida and Native were hurt. Stain was about to kill them. We had to intervene or else they would have both been dead right now. So what you are saying is that we should have just sat there while we watch them die."

"So it's okay to break the laws as long as it goes your way?" The chief said.

I was fuming but I kept my calm the best that I could.

"No, that is not what I'm sayi-." I was cut off by Todoroki.

"Sir, isn't it a hero's job to save people?" Todoroki asked

"This is why you're not a full fledged pro yet. It's obvious U.A. and Endeavor haven't been teaching you near enough. What a shame."

"You damn mutt." Todoroki started to walk to the chief.

I decided it wasn't a good idea to use my quirk to stop him so I got up and ran in front of him. I tried pushing him ignoring the sharp pain from the burns.

"Todoroki stop it's not worth it. You will only get into more trouble." I said.

I have never seen him this angry.

He seemed to have notices that I was hurting myself so he stopped walking.

"You all will want to hear him out." Gran torino said.

What I've said is the official stance of the police department but any punishment would only be necessary if this went public. If it did you would probably be applauded by citizens everywhere but there's no way you could escape from being reprimanded. On the other hand we sould say that Endeavor saved the day. Stain's burns would support this story completely and we could pretend you weren't involved, woof. Thankfully there were very few witnesses. This could be the last you heard of any punishments. It would mean no one would know about you though. You'd receive no acclaim at all."

He continuted. "The choice is yours. Personally, I know where I stand. I don't wanna damage any promising young careers. Not for a mistake like this."

Iida, Izuku, Todoroki and I apologized.

"I know it's not fair. You won't enjoy any of the fame and praise you probably would've received otherwise. But at least allow me, as the chief of police, to thank you."

"You know you could have started with that." Todoroki said.

"I don't want to become a hero for fame. All I want is to help people. So it really doesn't matter to me. Anyways Thank you sir." I said while bowing.

Once they left Izuku went out because he got a call from Uraraka. While he was gone Iida got news that his hand might have permanent damage. When Izuku came back Iida told him the news. Iida and Izuku promised that until they are able to call themselves a real hero they are going to leave their injuries as they are.

"I feel kind of bad." Todoroki said.

Is he really going to ruin this heartfelt moment?

"About what." Izuku asked shocked.

"Whenever I'm involved, someone's hand gets all messed up. Is something wrong with me?" Todoroki said while staring at his hand.

Wait what?

He continuted "Am I cursed?"

I tried to hold back my laughter but once Iida and Izuku laughed I couldn't stop myself.

"Todoroki, I didn't know you had a sense of humor!" Izuku laughed.

"This isn't a joke. I'm like "The Hand Crusher" or something." Todoroki said causing Iida, Izuku and myself to start laughing harder.
