Remember

FLASHBACK PART 1

Lili's POV:

I usually like award shows but only when he came, which was 99% of the time. Well, today was that 1% and I was dreading the next 7 hours I had. Do you know when that 1 cousin you like misses the family event? Well, that was how I was feeling. I tried to talk to the people on my table but was always looking for them to arrive. I had saved them seats next to me and now I looked like a fool just with 2 empty seats sext to me. How come they missed this? They were nominated for like 10 categories. I felt his hands on my shoulder, immediately calming me down. I looked up at his face smiling at his presence.

L-"Hi Dyl"

D-"hey Lili-bu"

L-"please stop calling me that, I hate it more than anything."

D- "never " he giggled

L-"why were you late anyway?"

D-"you know, Cole and his makeup"

He pointed at his brother and we both laughed. Cole barely spoke to anyone and I think even though Dylan was one of my best friends and for sure my favorite person to work with, I barely ever spoke to his twin brother.

L-"Yeah, now the real reason"

D- "we were playing D&D"

L-"typical... not even when you are in college you learn."

D-"it was actually Cole's fault, he was supposed to put an alarm. "

C-"always my fault right?"

L- "whatever, the awards are gonna start soon sit down"

We talked about everything, Dylan was very good at giving advice and making jokes at the appropriate times. They were called for best actors and Cole read his speech that was supposedly written by both of them but Dylan was as surprised as the audience with the speech. They got two more awards together and Cole got another award for his performance on Friends, even though that was really long ago. While the rest of the awards were given, Dylan was looking for a girl to hook up with. Cole and I shot him down every time as none of us wanted to stay alone.

D-"How about that one, in the teal dress, next to Zendaya?"

C-"Way out of your league"

L-"pretty sure I saw something about her having a boyfriend. "

D-"then suggest someone"

C-"how about that one right there, in the light pink dress?"

I looked at her and was happy with Cole's pick, she was pretty ugly and seemed to go not to have any friends.

D-"actually, she is not bad, thanks bro"

What?? She was probably the ugliest girl in the whole party and he wanted to hook up with her? He stood up, attempting to go to her.

L-"hey, you can't go now, she is talking to her friends. You have to wait until she is alone."

D-"tnx Lil"

L-"that's what sisters are for"

He smiled. When we were younger, I used to say that I was Dylan's little sister and he said he was my older brother.

D-"and you Cole, who are you thinking? I heard that Mia had a massive glow-up"

C-"sorry to break it to you but you are the only one in the world that sees this as hookup time"

D-"well, I don't know why I am the only one cause there are pretty girls using tight dresses and cute makeup, where else do you see this?"

C-"Well not everyone is as desperate as you-"

D-" she is alone, bye guys."

Before I could come up with anything he left us in awkward silence. I sipped my drink for as long as I could and stared down at my dead phone. We sat there in awkward silence, hoping Dylan would get dumped and come back.

L-"... so, Cole... what... I heard you went to university. What are you studying? "

C-"archology"

He was clearly putting a negative effort into this conversation.

L-"cool."

We sat there in silence once more, watching as Dylan left to go up to his hotel room with the girl.

C-"and you?"

L-"what?"

C-"what are you studying?"

L-"oh, I am still in school but I don't want to go to university."

C-"so you're gonna continue acting?"

L-"Yeah, it has always been my biggest dream... what about you?"

C-"no. I'm gonna find another job, maybe photography, but for sure not acting."

L-"oh. Cool."

We fell back to the terrifying awkward silence and this time Cole decided to break it.

C-"this is kinda boring without Dylan."

L-"yeah"

C-"I'm thinking of going back to my room, are you staying in this hotel?"

L-"no, my aunt is picking me up at 1 am."

C-"oh, that is like 3 hours away. If you want to can come up to our room and watch TV."

Did I want to? Well, I wanted to hang out with Dylan but of the options I had left, this seemed like the less horrible one. Well, maybe the most awkward one though.

C-"the only way to keep this normal is if we talk."

L-"about what?"

C-"Well, how about your acting dreams?"

L-"Well, my goal is to get into a popular TV show. My dream is to have fan accounts about me and have people dressing up as my character for Halloween. My other dream is to work with Jlo."

C-"Wow. I bet that one day I will see you in a movie with Jlo, with hundreds of fans freaking out with Your appearance in it."

L-"Well, I hope I do. But I most likely won't. I just want to change someone's life for the best."

C-"I bet you are going to."

L-"how much?"

C-"15 dollars"

L-"Deal."

C-"If I ever see you in a movie with Jlo you owe me 15 dollars."

L-"And if I don't, by the age of 50, you will owe ME 15 dollars"

We went into the room and sat on the edge of the bed. Cole turned the TV on and we scrolled through channels. We passed through all the channels and could not find anything to watch. Cole started making fun of each channel and joking with the ridiculous things that were steamed on TV at this time.

L-"Hey give me the remote " I was laughing a lot and so was he.

C-"come get it"

He laid back on the bed and stretched his arm. I laid almost on top of him and grabbed the remote from his hands still laughing.
