Part 22

Cole's POV:

Finally, it was time for my flight. I didn't really mind flying, but I hated doing it alone. 5 hours just watching movies and working. It was also from 1 am to 6 am so I had to sleep even though I usually just ended up working the whole time. I also had to read the script again and memorize the lines cause I knew that as soon as I got back to Lili I would be too busy having fun to work. The flight was as boring as I imagined but I managed to get all my weeks' editing done and memorize the first day's lines, on top of that I also slept like an hour so a pretty productive flight I guess. I arrived and Dylan was waiting for me in the parking lot.

D-"Hey butthead. Long-time. Was for sure expecting Ella, Lili or both."

C-"Yeah, unfortunately, they had to go to Cleveland for the holiday."

D-"Cool. Also, there are like 10 people sleeping in our apartment so you only have the couch."

C-"You gave them my room?"

D-"First thing I gave up obviously. Relax dude obviously they are not in your room."

I raised my eyebrow at him. He obviously has people sleeping in my room.

D-"Yeah bro. Let me just make a phone call. No one is in your room.'"

C-" let's just go home, I need to sleep so bad"

As I walked into his car I remembered I had to call Lili as soon as I arrived. I opened up my contacts and called her right away.

C-"hey Lil"

L-"hey cole, Ella's in the room, wanna talk to her?"

C-"sure."

E-"hey dad. Where are you?"

C-"I'm at uncle Dylan's"

E-"cool. Bye. I have to play with my cousin."

C-"bye sweetheart."

L-"hey babe. I missed you."

Her voice was softer than before and I knew that meant no Ella.

C-"I missed you too, love"

L-"two days left before we see each other."

C-"I would love to talk to you for the whole day but I just got home and I am gonna fall asleep"

L-"well ok. I have to tell you something funny. So my cousin's daughter is 7 and she decided to start the Santa talk. So Ella came to ask me if Santa was real and because of my highly amazing skills in parenting I just turned the tv volume to the max and pretended not to hear."

Lili's POV:
...
L-"cole? Is it not as funny as I thought?"

I was getting worried until I heard deep breaths and realized he was probably asleep.

L-"goodnight love."

I turned the call off and headed out of the room.

A-"Lili, who was that? Your boyfriend?"

L-"noooo... it was just a friend."

A-"Lili I know that face... spit it out"

L-"okay but in the kitchen cause Ella doesn't know"

A-"who is it?"0

L-"it's cole, Ella's dad."

A-"didn't you hate him?"

L-"well that was before I knew the actual him"

A-"as long as you like him. When did it start?"

I talked to my mom about everything and only stopped cause I had a friend coming over in 10 minutes and had to get ready.

L-"oh and mom... don't tell anyone, especially Ella. Oh, and Cole is coming over for Xmas can you kinda cover it up"?

A-"Not my first time hiding boyfriends. Remember last year when your sister didn't want dad to know about the guy so we had to say he was extended family."

L-" Yeah, and dad's face when he saw them kissing was priceless... anyways you can introduce cole as Ella's dad and give him the guest room, he can sneak into my room at night."

A-"okay. Now go get changed, Lili"

L-"bye mom"

I had fun at lunch and before I noticed it was already time to call Cole again. I called him 3 times and no answer. No way he was still sleeping at this time, it was already 6 pm. I started getting worried and sad so I just called Dylan.

L-"Hey Dyl, have you seen Cole anywhere?"

D-"hey Lili, he just went out with some old friends, I'll tell him to call you as soon as he gets here."

L-"okay... tell him that I miss him a lot and want to talk to him."

D-"sure"

L-"thanks Dylan"

I hung up and was super mad. We had promised to make time for each other. I decided to play with Ella for a bit just to get my mind off it. An hour passed, then another one and nothing was happening. I called him again but it went to voicemail and so I put Ella to bed without him. It was the one thing we loved to do was to read to her together and I was just annoyed at him. I stayed up until almost 3 am when I got a phone call.

L-"Cole? I missed you so much?"

C-"oh hello... who are you? Are you like my wife or something?"

L-"Cole are you drunk"

C-"I am not, I just feel free like a little bird"

L-"just give the phone to Dylan"

C-"okay bOsS"

D-"hi Lili, I told him not to call you but he didn't really care."

L-"why is he drunk?"

D-" he went out with some friends and then ended up at a bachelor party and got really drunk."

L-"oh shit. Tell him to call me when he is fully sober."

D-" got it, oh and once again I am so sorry Lili."

I hung up and screamed into my pillow. I hated him right now and I just wanted to punch him across the face. I barely slept that night and the next day was in the kitchen helping out with thanksgiving. As soon as I heard my phone ring I ran to my room. I hated him right now. So much.
