"Sakura-chan!" Naruto called out, "Slow down!"
Sasuke followed Naruto through the trees chasing after his friend. She didn't slow down, continuing to run towards home. It was like a game of tag with bad players lasting until sundown. Naruto yelled after her, telling her they should stop for the night but she... didn't. She kept running and Naruto was just too out of breath and too tired to go on, Sasuke was still passed at her and the only reason he was going on, was because he didn't want to lose Naruto.
"Sasuke, are you still able to run?" He questioned between breaths.
"If you're asking me to leave you here and chase after that self-centered bitch, it's not gonna happen." Sasuke scoffed.
"What happened? You two seemed like best friends before this mission! Why are so upset with her now?"
Naruto sat beneath a tree, eyes closed, pouting as his face scrunched up.
"I was her friend before she made fun of me for being gay!" Sasuke spat, "If she wants to apologize and accept me, let her, but I won't deal with her bullshit any longer."
They were silent for awhile, neither looking at the other.
"Sasuke... She doesn't say it to be rude, she's probably just trying to cope with her emotions. I tried tons of things to deal with my emotions when I was younger and she's just going about it wrong. She loves you and I imagine it hurts to know you love me instead." Naruto opened his eyes and peered over at Sasuke.
"... Even if it's misplaced, I'm not going to forgive her like that, especially if she won't say it herself." Sasuke thought for a second on Naruto's words, "Hey! I never said I love you either!"
Naruto looked over and stood up against the tree, "You... don't..?"
"I-I... shut up..." Sasuke's cheeks flushed, he tried to hide it by covering his face in his hands and looking away but Naruto knew that meant Sasuke loved him. He wasn't hiding anything.
"You can admit it, there's no reason not to." Naruto tried to reassure him.
"No... I don't know..." Sasuke paced in a circle, running his hands through his hair, "Isn't that moving fast? I feel like I'm not supposed to think that so early. We're not even dating?"
"Then let's change that," Naruto walked over to Sasuke, he grabbed Sasuke's hands out of his own hair and lowered them down around his waist so Sasuke was hugging him. Naruto wrapped his own arms around Sasuke's neck and got in close to his face.
"Sasuke.. Uchiha, will you be my b-o-y friend~" Naruto teased, poking Sasuke's nose, loving how red Sasuke's face was.
Sasuke turned into a stuttering mess, unable to answer with any comprehensible sentence.
Naruto smiled, "It's a yes?"
Sasuke nodded fast and hid his face in Naruto's neck. Naruto was laughing at him, trying not to accidentally hit Sasuke in the side of his head with his shoulder.
"Aah~" Naruto moaned as Sasuke started kissing his neck.
Sasuke moved back and looked at Naruto's embarrassed expression, chuckling to himself.
"Yeah, two can play this game." Sasuke threatened, smirking at him.
Naruto put his hands on Sasuke's chest, pushing him away and trying to compose himself.
"W-we need to set up camp, before the sun sets." Naruto tried to change the mood, turning away from Sasuke and taking off his backpack.
"You know, I really wish you weren't right." Sasuke sighed, letting his shoulders drop as he relaxed his muscles.
He went up next to Naruto and helped him set up a tent and a fire. By the time Naruto managed to set up the tent, Sasuke had roasted some food over the fire and was laughing at him the whole time.
"Screw you Sasuke! Why didn't you just do it if you're so good at everything!" Naruto crossed his arms, pouting.
"First off, it was more funny to watch you fail. Second, you will be soon." Sasuke smiled for a second and went back to cooking.
Naruto thought for a second trying to figure out what he meant, "Wha- H-Hey! No! You said you were scared of moving too fast and you go and say that!?" He yelled.
"I didn't say I was scared," Sasuke got up and moved towards Naruto, "I said... I thought we were moving fast... that doesn't mean it's a bad thing~" Sasuke stood there with his hand on his hip smirking, as if daring Naruto to deny him.
"We can't! Can't! I can't! No!" Naruto hid his face in his hands and spun around ready to run off into the woods but Sasuke grabbed him around his waist, pulling him into a back-hug.
"Naruto- Naruto calm down! I'm not going to do anything if you don't want me to!"
Sasuke lifted Naruto up awkwardly, almost losing his balance, and carried his squirming boyfriend over to the fire.
"Chill, eat something." Sasuke said, dropping Naruto to the ground, falling straight on his ass.
"Hmph..." Naruto grabbed a bowl of food and started eating. Sasuke was still cooking his own but Naruto didn't mind just sitting and watching Sasuke, admiring him while he cooked his food.
"What are you looking at?" Sasuke asked playfully.
"You. I love you teme." Naruto rested his head in his hand.
"Hey, what did I do to deserve being called teme?" Sasuke pouted, taking a bite of his food.
"Oh, right... That was something we used to do before you lost your memory, you called me dobe all the time so I had to come up with something to get back at you. It turned into a joke-taunt thing we did." Naruto moved closer to Sasuke and rested his head on his shoulder and looked at how the fire lit up the trees around them.
"... Alright... Dobe." Sasuke flicked Naruto lightly and laughed.
They sat by the fire and watched as the sparks floated into the sky until they got tired. They fell asleep together in the tent surrounded by darkness, but it didn't bother either of them, so long as the other was wrapped around them everything was fine.
