-Time Skip- A couple days
Kakashi was called to Tsunade's office again, she's been reading through the documents they got from Orochimaru's hideout, found something worthwhile...
"Kakashi, glad you're here."
Shizune was in the room but Tsunade quickly dismissed her.
"Yes, what did you find?" Kakashi asked.
"Straight to the point... While going through these files I found a few referencing the Uchiha brothers, mostly Sasuke but..." She took a deep breath, "There's also some with more info on Itachi... They're... Disturbing at points."
Kakashi walks over to her desk, standing by her side as they look through the files together, Tsunade handing him the files as she talks about them.
"I haven't gone through them all or read every one but I know they bounce off eachother at parts, Orochimaru compairing Sasuke to his brother the whole way through."
She hands him a few pages.
"This one- Orochimaru apparently worked with Itachi for a short while, he wanted to take Itachi's body like he tried to do with Sasuke, by giving him the curse mark... Of course, Itachi didn't end up recieving it."
Kakashi reads a bit and sets it aside to be handed another file.
"Orochimaru had a fascination with the boys... Their sharingan... He repeatedly mentioned having stalked the two for a long time and I figure somewhere in these piles of folders, is the notes he speaks of in that text." She looks over at Kakashi, "He did experiments on the two, more so Sasuke as Itachi 'wasn't nearly as obedient', as Orochimaru had put it..." She shivered.
"Most failed, a few were temporarily, the only things that appeared to have stayed were the curse mark and erasing Sasuke's memory. He mentioned the whole memory thing early on- when he first met Sasuke even- and didn't do anything with it until he suspected Sasuke was going to betray him."
She handed him one last document on Sasuke.
"There's no information past that point, it skips months ahead. It says something about Sasuke trashing the place, freaking out, he runs away and Orochimaru tried to chase him down but didn't manage to catch him, just hurt him bad."
She goes on, "There's nothing more about him but there's another mention of Itachi, Orochimaru was experimenting with the dead and wanted to use Itachi because of how strong he was prior to his death, and he mentioned... resurrection..."
Kakashi's concerns were correct, there's a good chance Itachi is alive and it's entirely possible he's the one who killed Orochimaru.
Tsunade seemed to be thinking the same thing, as they shared worried glances.
If Itachi was back, and really that powerful, it meant the whole village would be in danger.
"If you are following my train of thought on this, I'm sure you'll agree sending out a team of Anbu would be best. Have them search the hideout again for any trace of Itachi and try scouting out the smaller villages around Konoha?" She looks to Kakashi asking for a second opinion, but Kakashi brings up something completely different.
"What if... All those dreams Sasuke's been having, aren't really dreams?"
"...Kakashi, what are you talking about?"
"When Sasuke came-to he rambled about being chased down and pinned to the ground, he was injured then too, so what if that wasn't a dream? What if that was a surfacing memory of when he ran away from Orochimaru?"
Tsunade was silent for a good few minutes, considering the situation given to her.
"Maybe you're right, but if so what would that mean?"
"...It means Sasuke could be getting his memories back faster than we think and he could become unstable... Mentally... But it's also a chance to find out more past these documents."
"Well, we'll just have to wait and see. I want you to lead the team of Anbu to the hideout, you're not required to stay but I'm sure it would be of great help to do so."
Kakashi handed her the documents and bowed his head, taking his leave.
Kakashi got home to see Sasuke asleep on the kitchen floor, he crouched down next to him and shook his shoulder gently trying to wake him up.
Sasuke groaned, but shot straight up when he realized something was touching him. He yelped and spun around, slapping Kakashi across the face.
Sasuke gasped, "Oh god, I'm sorry! I didn't know that was you!"
Kakashi rubbed his cheek, "Okay, ow... What's up? Why were you sleeping on the floor?"
"What?" Sasuke looked around and realized where he was, "Oh... I'm... Not sure. I got up to get a drink, because I was dizzy, I guess I just blacked out or something..."
Kakashi looks at the confusion on his face, then notices a small cut on his forehead.
"Is that from this or something else?" He asks, brushing the hair out of Sasuke's face and looking closer at the wound.
"What?" Sasuke flinches away as Kakashi touches the area around it, "Agh... Don't- do that..."
"Right, sorry. Come on, let's bandage it."
Kakashi gets up and Sasuke follows him to the bathroom. He motions for Sasuke to sit down on the toilet while he grabs a few things from the medkit.
"Anyway, Yeah... I've been really dizzy since Tsunade did those tests and I'm guessing that's what happened here. Maybe I'm getting sick or I'm just hungry..? or something." Sasuke continued.
"Probably, just- lie down for awhile. I'll bring you something to eat and drink, try not to wear yourself down."
