"So... Can you fix my arm? More than Sakura has?"
He looked at Tsunade as she observed his stitched arm.
"Possibly, I might be able to do a transplant or something... I suppose if you really wanted, we could implant DNA into you and your arm will grow back, but you'd have to have it bandaged permanently." She sighed and stepped back, awaiting his response.
"...Are either reversible if they don't work right?"
"No."
"I guess just do the bandage thing then, at least my skin tone won't be off... And even if it is, no one will see it."
"Actually, your skin tone won't match either way, but since it'll be bandaged it won't matter."
"Hm. Okay, whatever, let's do it."
She nodded and walked out of the room, coming back with another doctor, a few needles and other medical equipment.
A long while later Naruto had a brand new bandaged arm and was discharged from the hospital.
He walked down the hall, deep in thought, 'I'll have to go home and deal with Sasuke... That blood is going to be a pain to clean up!~ ugh...'
Just as he dropped his head down, he bumped into someone. Stumbling, he turned back around and saw Kakashi with his arms around someone, guiding them down the hall.
Naruto watched them walk away, catching a quick glance of blood-stained clothes and pitch-black hair.
'Sasuke..!?'
Naruto snapped out of his thoughts and ran after them, "Hey! Kakashi-sensei!"
The man looked back behind him, giving Naruto a stone-cold glare as he continued walking down the hall. Naruto froze in place.
'Eh- What was that look for!? What did I do!?'
-
Kakashi continued walking, gently rubbing Sasuke's shoulder to try and soothe him, anything to stop his constant muttering, but nothing seemed to work.
"I hurt Naruto... Naruto actually scared me... Itachi scares me... Itachi-"
"Shh~ Don't think about him, think about food or that dog you met on the way here, observe your surroundings, just listen to the ambient sounds." Kakashi kept his voice soft and calm despite his concern for his student.
Sasuke sniffled beside him, but stayed silent for a short while, up until Kakashi led him to Tsunade...
"Th-The- She- No!- I don't need this! I don't need her! Why am I here!? Kakashi!? No I- I didn't do anything on purpose! Please don't! I didn't mean it! I didn't want to! No! No! No! No!-" Sasuke screamed and pleaded, trying to run away but Kakashi held him in place.
Kakashi knelt down slightly to be at eye-level with Sasuke, "Sasuke- Sasuke- Calm down... She's not going to hurt you or throw you in jail, she's just going to do some tests and try to help you."
Sasuke sobbed uncontrollably and fell to his knees, Kakashi catching him and lifting him back up into his arms.
"Kakashi, what is this? What's going on?" Tsunade demanded.
"Sasuke's been muttering to himself for hours and won't stop for more than a few minutes, it's like he's broken. I figured it's not safe for him to just come home with me since he snapped at Naruto like that-"
"He's the one who disintegrated Naruto's arm!?"
"Yeah, I thought Naruto would have told you." He paused, "I think Sasuke needs a psychological evaluation or something... We at least have to know what caused this."
"Of course! Follow me."
Tsunade led them away, Kakashi getting quite annoyed with all of Sasuke's struggling but there wasn't much he could do to stop him.
They went down a staircase and she unlocked one of the doors to let Kakashi in.
"Wait here a second, I have to go get someone."
He sat down with Sasuke, the raven crying on his lap and muttering nonsense again.
She returned soon after with another doctor, presumably one who specalized in these mental illness situations.
They tried to move Sasuke to a chair across the room but he clung to Kakashi's shirt and cried as though someone was going to tear off his fingers. They had to get Kakashi to sit with him and keep him in place while they did their tests.
"Sasuke-"
"What!?" He snapped, running his fingers through his hair, "Why do you have to be so loud!?"
"I... I'm not..." She shared a worried glance with Kakashi and the psychologist before lowering her voice more, "What happened before Naruto got hurt?"
"Why are you interrogating me..." Sasuke's lip quivered as he whispered back to her.
"We're just trying to help you express whatever you've been stuttering over the past few hours."
The other doctor sat back and wrote on his note pad.
"He's annoying..." Sasuke glared at the man, clearly making him nervous.
"Please try to stay on track, what happened when you got to Naruto's house?"
"I cried to him... Apologized for being an asshole- I am an asshole- I hurt him-"
"Sasuke, shh-shh-shh~ stay on track."
He went silent.
"You apologized, and then what?" Tsunade prompted.
"I... I don't know... We ate together... I stared at the eggs for a really long time..." Sasuke's whole body stiffened, "Itachi! ITACHI! The eggs- and he- AHHH!-" Sasuke screamed and scratched at his neck, leaning forward enough to fall right off his chair if Kakashi's arm wasn't blocking him.
"Sasuke!" Tsunade cupped his cheeks and lifted his head, flinching when he opened his eyes to reveal his mangekyō.
"Sasuke calm down." She demanded.
Kakashi leaned forward to be in his line of sight, "Close your eyes, take deep breaths. Picture something happy, Okay?"
Sasuke's look softened, he closed his eyes and collapsed into Kakashi's arm, Kakashi instantly moving to catch him and lie him down softly on the floor.
"What the hell is happening?~" Tsunade groaned, pinching the bridge of her nose.
"From everything I've seen, he's lost his mind. Or losses his mind when the subject of this 'Itachi' comes up." The doctor answered.
"Itachi has always been an issue but he's never acted like this."
"It has to be because of his amnesia or whatever we want to call it." Kakashi spoke up.
Tsunade sighed, "All we can do is wait for him to wake up I guess..."
