Los Angeles, 2004

I wiped some of the sweat from my forehead as I stared down at the sleeping dog that was laying on the table. Kate, one of John's friends from high school, were taking the IV out of it's front leg.

I was 26 now and John was 20 I'm pretty sure. I haven't heard from him since he disappeared in the sometime after mom died, preferring to stay off of the grid, not that I blame him. Even though we stopped Judgement Day, he was still a little paranoid. I, on the other hand, Became Kate's assistant at her animal hospital. I was a little paranoid as well but thanks to Kate, I had my mind distracted by work. I still had nightmares though but thankfully, I lived alone at my apartment, so no one knew.

"Hey," Kate cut through my thoughts, making me look at her. "It's almost 5, why don't you head out."

"But-"

"It's past the end of your shift, remember?" she smiled slightly. "I have to close up early and go out with Scott."

"Well...if you're sure..."

"I am." She smiled and nudged me out of the room. I went, clocked out and heading outside and took my beat-up Chevy to my apartment. I parked, got out and headed into my apartment which was on the first floor, unlocked and opened the door before shutting it behind me. It was a modest apartment with everything I need.

I walked into my bedroom and dropped on the bed before looking at the picture on my bedside table. It was of me, John and mom. It was taken after mom was healed from the events a few months prior of this picture being taken and I kept it all these years.

I laid down on my back, staring up at the ceiling as happier memories started to swirl around.
