I was helping John shut the door of the tailgate when I noticed mom walking out of a small trailer and to another car, decked out in all black, like she was going on a mission. Enrique came over to as, telling us that she said to go with Bob and that she'll meet them tomorrow. Something didn't seem right about this.
"Mom!" John called out as he started to jog over to the car. He began to run faster when she got into the car. "Mom! Mom, wait!"
She ignored John and peeled away and started down the road. John turned back and jogged back to us, obviously worried. "Why'd she go off like that?"
"I'm not sure." I sighed- then, something caught my eye.
I jogged over to the picnic table and pulled the knife out from its spot and noticed the 'NO FATE' that had been etched in on the wood.
"No Fate?" frowned John when he walked over with Bob and caught sight of the words. "No fate but what we make. My father told her this."
"John made him memorize it in the future...as a message to her." I mumbled Before setting the knife down.
"Now, okay, the whole thing goes, the future's not set. There's no fate but what we make for ourselves."
"She intends to change the future." Bob deducted.
"Yeah, I guess." John paused for a moment before his eyes widen in realization. "Oh shit!"
"Dyson."
"Yeah. Got to be. Miles Dyson! She's gonna blow him away!" John bolted to the truck, me on his heels. He looked back, ushering Bob to follow as I hopped into the truck, sitting in the middle and John got into the passenger's side. Bob made his way over and slipped into the drivers side and turned the truck on and we were off, down the road.
"Damn it, mom." I groaned. "She never tells us anything when it comes to this."

"This is tactically dangerous." Bob stated after the night settled over them.
"Drive faster." was John's only reply.
"The T-1000 has the same files that I do. It knows what I know. It might anticipate this move."
"I don't care, we got to stop her."
"Killing Dyson might prevent the war."
"I don't care!" snapped John. "Haven't you learn anything yet? Haven't you figured out why you can't kill people?!"
Bob glanced over at John and by then, I decided to pipe up.
"Not everything needs to be solved with killing. Sometimes, all that's needed is some talking. Talking helps half of the time, some people actually see reason despite some popular belief."
Bob looked at me for a long moment, as if contemplating what I said before turning back to the wall and accelerated slightly.

We pulled up to the residence of Dyson and, through the glass door, we could see Dyson and his wife and kid on the floor.
"Shit, we're too late!" John stated before the terminator opened the door, breaking the frame. John and I quickly went over to mom and John gave an order to Bob to check up on the other three.
"Look at me, mom." John tugged the hat off of her head and dropped it onto the floor. I was kneeling beside John, watching mom who was on the verge of crying. "Look at me."
"I almost..." mom breathed as tears started to trail down her face. John brought her close and hugged her while I was rubbing her back comfortingly.
