I sat outside the house, taking in the deep breaths of fresh air... The gentle fall breeze rubbing against my body.
I wanted to run... I really did... But, with how many people were walking about and how long their damn legs were, I honestly doubted I would make it far.
Taking another deep breath, I felt a presence by my side. I knew who it was by the sweet scent of peaches.
"Hey, sis." I mumbled. I haven't talked with her for nearly two weeks, seen her on a few occasion, but we never stopped to talk. "What you want?"
She took a deep breath before speaking.
"Why are you so mad at me? Why are you so distant from me? We... We used to be so close..." Her voice fell at the end, at the memories of us laughing and playing together... Of us being happy.
"You're Father's favorite... You act like a damn spoiled princess sometimes... And... Why should I be close to you, when you never try to get the full story? You never even asked Mom why I used to always cry or be home with bruises... Just Father... Just his story seemed to matter to you... I guess it always will."
We sat in silence for a bit, the tense air making the nice fall day feel like a winter afternoon.
"Me and a few others are going to take a jog in the forest later." She whispered after a few minutes. "The Doc said you need more exercise than walking, so..." She left the rest to a blank.
I sighed softly, finally turning to look at her.
Her blue eyes were begging me to come join her. To run with her.
"I don't see why not." I stood up slowly. "Let me get changed."
A smile broke Crystal's face, making it shine with true happiness... With the hope and love that I lost...
I turned my head away, walking inside the Manor that I grew to know. I didn't love it... It felt too big, to lonely... Too ignored...
Once I was done getting changed into my clean clothes, the ones that I was wearing on the way here, I went back outside. Crystal, the guy she was talking to the first time I saw her, Ashton, his sister and then some small, thin male were waiting for me out there.
"Jax," Cry made a small face at calling me that, "this is my boyfriend, Kane."
The guy was tall, toned, dark colored with near black hair and eyes. He looked liked some Olympics' runner.
"H-Hello, I'm Oliver, but everyone calls me Oli..." The small guy shied away from my gaze.
I nodded at him.
"Jaxon." I simply gave, raising my hands above my head in a stretch. "Are we running or should I just go back inside?" I dropped my hands behind my head, feeling bored.
My older sister frowned at me, biting her bottom lip in needless worry. Ash was the one who said something.
"Yeah, try to keep up... I don't want you to get lost in there." He motioned with his head towards the large forest the surrounded the place.
"I'll do fine." I chuckled at him, letting my arms go to my side. "Let's just get going, I'm getting antsy."
My teach chuckled at me, his eyes for once not turning green, staying hazel.
We walked with to the edge of the property, some people giving me worried and annoyed looks. Thing was, I hadn't even seen those people before!
I shook it off as we all broke into a slow jog. I did my best to stay at the end of the group, which let me assess who was a the fastest amongst the group, who tries to dominate the others, who was the most likely to trip and fall, etc.
It wasn't hard to find out who was who. Ashton was the leader, easily jogging ahead of everyone. His sister was the dominator, trying to make sure no one else got in front of her, even if that was just a subconscious thing. Kane and Crystal were the ones to help Oli, who stumbled a lot.
Then they all picked up the speed, going into a run. I easily kept up with them, still staying in the back however.
I knew where they were going, I remembered the path well... I was just waiting...
Soon, though, the urge to run faster pestered me... It was hard to keep it down, but I knew it wouldn't leave me till I obeyed it... So I did.
With ease I passed everyone till I was with Ashton.
He genuinely seemed surprised to see me up there with him.
"Damn, can't you run." He chuckled, barely sounding breathless.
A chuckle fell from my lips as a warm feeling spread across my chest, the same feeling that always happened during a run.
"Bet you can't catch me~" I purred out, smirking as I turned to him, raising an eyebrow.
A little look of shock came to his face before it fell into a challenging look.
"Oh, I can catch you."
I narrowed my eyes as I faced forward again.
"Let's see you run then~"
I stopped holding back, easily gaining some ground from him, before I heard his heavy steps on the ground. He was close by.
I stopped for a millisecond, lunching myself into the air. I landed on a large, sturdy branch, to which I used to jump down to the ground of a small hill a little ways away.
Once my feet touched the leave covered ground, I was off running again.
I heard a growl, a deep and menacing one that sent horrible shivers down my back, but I didn't slow nor stop. I went faster.
I jumped and swung as well as ran. A few times Mr. Hot Stuff was able to lightly grasp at the back of my shirt, but I never stayed close by.
Then, I eventually lost him in the vast forest after maybe an hour of playing a game of chase. Though, I still ran around, tending on loosing him if he tried to use his "dogs" to get me.
After that, I went home... I went to my real family.
