I gave a soft huff as I stopped running, placing a hand on a tree beside me. I had been running since the early morning, and it was nearly dusk.
I allowed myself to settle down onto my butt, closing my eyes to catch my breath.
The sound of the bushes moving caught my attention, it made me silently groan. If it was Mr. David, then I'd get an earful.
Cracking my eyes open, I looked up to see a boy no older than fourteen. He didn't look that strong and weirdly was topless, only wearing a loose pair of boxers.
He didn't seem injured, just dirty. He also was glaring down at me like I had murdered his family.
"What'd ya want, kid?" I grumbled, fulling sitting up to look at him.
He took a couple of steps back from me, still glaring.
I huffed at that, rolling my head back before I decided to stand up and just leave.
"Where you going?" Snapped a young sounding voice.
"Home." I stated simply, waving back at the kid, not bothering to look back at him as I started to walk away.
"Why the hell are you on Alpha's property?" The kid snapped again, the soft sound of his footsteps following me.
"You're talking about Ashton?" I didn't really wait for him to answer. "Because I don't care if he owns the forest, this is the only place that I can feel free and calm down."
There was a growl when I bluntly stated what I was doing there, but I wasn't scared. I faced worse from a familiar face, so... It didn't matter to me.
"Alpha will have your head." He growled to me, causing me to shrug.
"He can hurt me all he wants, he's not going to 'have my head'. I'm his student, so kind of against the law."
Another growl sounded, but this one sounded deeper and more harsher. It wasn't from the boy.
I turned towards my left, but before I could even see who it was, I was thrown to the ground!
Pain erupted from my head, my world fading around me, but I tried to push it away. Whoever was still on top of me.
I shoved my foot up, sending whatever was on top of me, up.
I jumped to my feet, lightly holding my head. Everything hurt...
I stood up slowly, grasping the tree near me.
"Fucking-" Something hit my stomach, causing blood to spill from my mouth.
I went back to my knees, gasping for air as I hunched over. The darkness was getting harder to push away.
"You will be questioned." A gruff voice hissed, pain becoming numb as I fell to the forest floor.
I was out before anything else.
