When Makoto got home last night, late as well William was upset, not only did Makoto disobey Will and hung out with his friends he also was late, by two hours. Now at that moment, Makoto was thinking that Will was being stupid because he just skipped school for one day but Leon after Will stormed off how Will is afraid of losing Makoto and not knowing what happened to him, something similar to what happened to Makoto's parents, Will didn't know they died until two days later after, Makoto was already being watched over by Will. The thing about Will is he doesn't know how to tell Makoto these things and he has it wrapped in his head that a 17-year-old shouldn't be burdened with adult things, but the truth is Makoto has seen bad things in his life and no one can change that. After listening to Leon explain everything Makoto vowed to talk to Will, he understands Will is mad at him at this moment but Leon promised to at least let Makto talk which Makoto is grateful for.

"Will is calmed down enough to talk to you Koto." Leon points towards outside where Will is sitting on their porch outside, Makoto nods his thanks and stands up. His hands shake when his hand is on the doorknob to go outside to the porch, Makoto sat down and neither of them made a move to talk, either they were waiting for the other one to talk or they just didn't want to talk to each other, Makoto turned his head and let out a slow breath trying to work the nerve up to talk.

"I talked to Leon and I wanted to tell you I'm sorry." Makoto starts out biting his lip.

"Then you understand why I don't like you being out when you don't tell me things," Will says bitterly and looks away.

"Look, yes you lost a sister but I lost a parent, not just one but both of my parents, all because mom was too stupid to let dad take over driving." Makoto rarely talks about his parents even less with Will because it's so hard on them.

"Makoto, you were never told about that night, you don't know the truth." Will huffs out wiping his lower lash line fo stop tears from getting out.

"Then explain it to me Will, I have no idea what happened that night, no one has ever given me a straight answer." Makoto crosses his arms then forwards scooting towards the edge of the chair.

"I guess you're old enough to know the truth. You were three, Leon and I was watching you at our old apartment. It was they're anniversary so they're having a date which is why we're watching you, They wanted to have a night in with you but I told them they should go out, your dad was very reluctant to leave you." Will softly smiles, Makoto remembers his dad the most, he remembers how they would read in the rocking chair in Makoto's room every night, how Makoto would like the smell of his dad's cologne fall over him and help him fall asleep, Makoto didn't notice he was crying until Will handed him a tissue with a slight smile.

"Your dad, he gave you the biggest kiss before he left, your mom was already a little drunk but she kissed you too on the cheek." Makoto touches his cheek which he distantly remembers a woman with flowery strong perfume kissing it, Makoto supposes that his mother.

"Anyway, You had just gone to bed and your mom called me saying she was really drunk but your dad fell ill and he didn't feel comfortable driving and your mom knew she shouldn't be driving but Leon had just left because he was doing the night shift and I didn't want to wake you up even though she said I should, but she eventually hung up, I thought that meant they figured it out, It wasn't until later I found out she was driving home when another car hit them and killed them on impact." Will wraps himself in his arms, he's never told this story to anyone.

"I'm so sorry Will." Makoto scooted closer to Will and put his arms around Will in a show of comfort.

"I blame myself, you lost parents and I lost a sister." Will hugs Makoto tightly and starts to softly sob, they hear the door open but ignore it until the couch sinks under some new weight.

"I'm glad you two made up." Leon smiles from over Will's head who wasn't willing to let go of Makoto just yet.

"Me too, I may have lost parents but I grew up with pretty damn awesome uncles." Makoto's eyes twinkle with happiness.

"Language!" Will and Leon say at the same time but they look at each other and start busting out laughing.

"I understand why you feel the way you do and I won't skip curfew anymore," Makoto promises.

"Oh, you will skip curfew again because you're a teenage boy, remember I was one too." Will's eyes sparkle with mischief.

"I definitely promise to never drink again though." Makoto bites his lip waiting for Will to freak out but it was Leon that flipped out.

"WHAT YOU'VE BEEN DRINKING BEFORE!" Leon stood up in shock, Will just looked at Leon and laughed.

"I'm glad you're gonna stop drinking, Leon he's been drinking for a while." Will stood up and grabbed Leon's arm to lead him inside.

Inside of following his uncles inside Makoto stayed outside, he was looking across their small yard, just thinking. It was getting chilly but Makoto wanted to stay out here longer, he was grateful Will finally told him these things but he feels bad that it only happened because they weren't in a very good place.

Makoto huffs as he gets up, opening the door he's met with the smell of food, he smiled and walked towards the table, he wouldn't change this life for anything.
