Chapter 21

Harry: It’s supposed to be really hot today, so the boys and I were thinking of going to the beach

Lylah: Hot in London? That’s unheard of

Harry: Ikr, that’s why you should come! The girls are gonna be there too

Lylah: Which beach?

Harry: don’t worry we’ll find one with the least amount of people

I slightly smile as I read the response, he knows me so well.

Lylah: Okay fine, should I bring anything?

Harry: nope, just your pretty face J

I chuckle at his response, before I can reply I get another message through

Harry: Invite Mia and Matt along as well

Lylah: Sure, what time?

Harry: I’ll pick you up at 12

I look at the time and realise that’s only half an hour away, I better get ready then.

‘Mia!’ I yell from the lounge room

‘Yeah?’ I hear her call back as her feet pad down the hallway ‘what’s up?’ she asks

‘Do you want to go to the beach?’

Her face lights up ‘Oh my gosh yes!’ Mia loves the beach but I never go with her, she usually goes with Chelsea while I stay at home

‘The boys are gonna be there, why don’t you invite Matt?’ Her face slightly falls

‘He won’t come so I won’t even bother, I don’t know why but he’s just been really distant lately’

I slightly frown, that’s not like Matt, he’s quite but not distant, especially with Mia.

I give a sympathetic smile ‘maybe he’s going through something and needs some time, you guys will be fine’

She smiles at me and walks down the hallway ‘I’m gonna get changed’

I decide I should get changed as well, I pretty sure I have swimmers but I haven’t pulled them out since last year, probably even longer.

I pull open my drawers and find my bikini at the very bottom, I wouldn’t wear this if the bottoms weren’t high waisted. They’re quite cute actually, the pair has a black and white polka-dot pattern, and the straps on the top are thin. 

I put on the bikini and stand in front of the mirror… this looked better on me when I first got it, or maybe I was just delusional and didn’t see how it actually looked on me.

I huff as I rub my face, I don’t have any other swimmers and it’s too late to go out and get another pair. Plus Harry will probably drag me out of the apartment if I say I don’t want to go.

I’ll just wear something over the top and I won’t take it off till I’m right near the water. I grab a pair of leggings and a thin white t-shirt, I refuse to look in the mirror as I close the door of my wardrobe and walk over near my bed to grab some thongs.

I throw my hair up into a messy bun, I would normally wear makeup but I’m going in the water so there’s no point.

I grab my black handbag and place in a towel along with my keys, phone and wallet. I walk out and sit on the couch, while checking the time on my phone, 12 o’clock.

‘Mia, Harry will be here any second’ I yell

Mia walks out a second later wearing cotton shorts, tank top and large black sunhat ‘I’m ready’ she smiles

We walk out of the apartment, towards the road. As soon as I open the security door I feel the heat cover up my entire body

‘Jesus it’s hot’ Mia says

Just as Mia says that Harry pulls up in his car with Niall in the back, he beeps the horn and I can’t help the smile taking over my face.

Harry rolls down the window and I immediately freeze, he’s wearing a bandana on his head and his Ramones t-shirt, he looks so good. Sunglasses cover his face but he takes them off and smiles at me ‘come on ladies, this sun won’t last forever’ 

‘I’ll go in the back with Niall’ Mia says as she walks towards the car

I’m about to object but by the time I can form a sentence Mia is already sitting in the back. I run around to the passenger side of the car and strap myself in.

‘Hey Niall’ I call out, he smiles at me and replies ‘hey Lylah’

‘No hi for me?’ Harry pouts, I chuckle and lean over to hi side ‘no, but you get a kiss instead’

As I kiss him on the cheek I can feel his dimples setting in which causes me to smile

‘Okay love birds that’s enough, Harry what ever happened to this sun won’t last forever?’ Mia exclaims

We both laugh and I sit back in my seat as Harry pulls out of the curb.

‘Are Liam and Sophia coming?’ asks Mia

‘Uh yeah, they’re in Liam’s car, they like their privacy’ Niall replies.

Harry nods ‘yeah, Liams moving out in a few weeks, were helping him pack, would you mind coming around and helping?’ Harry looks at me and I nod ‘that’s fine, where they moving to?’

Harry rubs his chin ‘not too far but it’s closer to Sophia’s uni, so about a fifteen minute drive. I haven’t been inside but I’ve seen pictures, it’s really nice, not as big as our place now but I reckon it’d be good for them’

I nod ‘that’s really exciting for them’

‘Yeah, I think they’re both sick of sleeping in the same house as Sophia’s parents or us’ pipes in Niall.

‘So how did they meet?’ asks Mia, Niall and Harry look at each other through the rear-view mirror and smirk ‘at a club’ say Harry.

Mia and I slightly chuckle ‘how romantic’ I tease.

Before I know it Harry turns into a parking lot overlooking the beach, looking out the windshield I see people, lots of people.

I feel my breath hitch in my throat as few people in their swimmers walk past the car and look at us.

Harry notices my stare and looks to where my eyes lead, ‘shit Lylah, I’m sorry I thought there would be less people’

Niall frowns and leans forward ‘yeah sorry Lylah, the boys and I go here quite often and it’s never been this busy’

I shallow the lump forming in my throat and shake it off, ‘it’s fine, I’ll be fine’ I smile

Harry frowns at me ‘you sure? You don’t have to go out there’ I shake my head at me ‘don’t be silly. I need to do this anyway.’

We all jump out of the car and walk over to the beach ‘I’ll call the others to see where they are’ say Niall

‘Is everyone already here?’ I turn to harry and he nods ‘they should be’

All of a sudden we Louis running over towards us ‘Hey guys, glad you could make it!’

We all smile and give him a hug, while Niall and Harry give him that weird hand-hug thing guys do.

‘You guys ready to have some fun?’
