It's big, for the most part. Blue. There's a nice, queen bed. Dressers to match the vanity, and desk. Bigger, way bigger than my room back home.
I look around, it's a bit boyish. Barely a closet, army posters. I snicker, this was obviously a boys room at one time.
"Hey. It used to be my room.." Cameron says staying by the door as I walk in, admiring everything.
I laugh, and look in the drawers. There's clothing I get disgusted over. Black and white plaid..
I slam the dresser closed. "What is that?" I ask, walking away. And staring at Cameron madly.
He sighs, "that's, uh, that's, uniform.." He tries to say calmly.
I open my mouth, "uniform?" I sigh and lay my back on my bed. I never would've dreamed of a private school, much less a uniform school. Shit.
"You'll get used to it." He says. "You get to wear your own shoes, though." He says, trying to cheer me up.
I smile at his attempt. "Great." I say sighing, then sit on the soft bed. I look at him in the doorway, very anxious.
He smiles, drops my suitcase, then leaves and closes my door. I cover my face in my hands and pull back my hair. First night in California isn't going too good.
I look at the ceiling. "This is gonna be hard," I mumble to myself.
Eventually I put away all my clothes and belongings. About two hours later, I'm satisfied with my room. I have many clothes that I could never wear to school, sadly.
I walk to the hard wood hallway, and look around. Only one door is closed, Cameron's. I hesitate, but knock.
I hear shuffling, and then the door opens a crack. I raise an eyebrow at the Drake that plays. I look in his room, different than mine, bigger than mine.
He laughs, "Whaaat?," he says hurriedly. I notice He's holding an Xbox controller.
I chuckle, "can I use a car? I need to get some stuff." I ask, and he tightens.
"Uhh.." He's unsure, does he not trust me?
"C'mon, it's urgent.." I say, trying to make him agree. I want to go look around and explore without being monitored.
He gets it. "Ooh. Uh, yeah. Take my truck." He goes in his room, and grabs the keys. "Be careful," he says kindly.
I smile innocently, "I will," I go to my room, grab my wallet -with a fresh hundo (of which I stole from my mother) and make my way down the long hallway.
The car is different than my Mom's old Chevy from 2001, but I manage. I ride in silence, thinking of what I've gotten into. The nearest mall is named Chino Park Mall, so I go in.
I buy a few skinny jeans and tops. Then I go to Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I grab lights for my room, a chair, TV, etc. After the day is finished, I end up spending more than 300 dollars.
On the way to the parking lot, Im not even paying attention when I run into a boy who is running without looking, as well. He stumbles and I drop a few of my twenty bags.
He looks startled, "hey. Watch it!" He yells and I look puzzled like who shit in your cereal? I notice he has crazy blue eyes, and looks pretty young, but he's still an asshole.
"How about you? Fucking jerk," I say, picking up my bags and look at my scattered bags.
He walks away, "bitch," he scoffs. Ooh ya really got me there I think sarcastically. I laugh at his abnoxiousnes and bend down gently to grab my bags.
After I manage into the car, I arrive back at the house around 8pm. Jodi's car is still gone, probably gone for the night. Definitely could settle in if its like this every day.
I carry all the bags up the many stairs, and drop them in my room. I shove all my clothes in my drawers and leave the rest for tomorrow. Oh yeah, school's tomorrow. Shit.
I plug in my phone, and head to the shower. It's a nice one, it has marble slabs. Mostly Head&Shoulders, but I can tell my Aunt bought stuff for me.
I shave, and pluck my eyebrows. I need to make an impression for my first say in Chino -a good one, but not too good.
I get into soft shorts and a tank, then check the driveway through my window. Jodi is here now, I didn't even notice her pull up. I brush my hair, and knock on her halfway open door.
She looks up from her laptop, "come on in, sweetie," she pats the empty spot next to her, and I sit.
"So... About tomorrow. How will I get there?" I ask, having hundreds of more questions. I assume there will be a bus, but I hope I can drive myself.
"Uh, Cam will drive you until further notice," she says, keeping her eyes on her computer.
I nod. "So when should I wake up, again?" I ask, shifting my weight. Please don't say 6:30..
"Seven," she says, "or however long you need to get ready. First bell rings at eight," she finishes.
I sigh. "Okay, goodnight, aunt Jodi," I say, standing up.
"Goodnight, honey," she smiles, and I shut her door.
I walk slowly past Cam's room. His door's open now. I look, but he doesn't notice because he's lost in his phone.
I turn into my still new room, not really used to it yet. It's 10pm, I crawl in my bed and get on my phone until about 11, then fall asleep. Tomorrow's gonna be tough, I need this sleep.

The uniform seems pretty simple. Black shirt, plaid vest, plaid skirt, black knee high socks- that are unusual but I don't care- and I picked out white Roshes.
I look and feel disgusting, this whole new school thing is nerve racking, odd enough for me. I apply more makeup than normal, to draw attention away from my clothes. I'm not really a dark person on makeup, but maybe a new look is good.
I loosely curl my light brown hair then grab my empty backpack. Im ready by 7:30. Cameron's waiting in the kitchen, eating a banana.
He spies me, stares, then looks away. He is wearing a black and white suit, black dress pants and dress shoes. I hide a laugh.
"You look horrible." He says, as I come down the stairs fast.
I roll my eyes and scoff, "thanks."
He smiles, "joking," I smile back. "Mostly." He adds. I just roll my eyes playfully and follow him out the front door.
We pile into his 5 seated ford. I decide to text Kyle while he's sober,
First day of school, kill me now. Wish you were here ugh.
I lock my phone then look up, and we enter the parking lot of West Ridge High School. Cameron parks, and I feel frozen. The school is surprisingly close to their house. I look at the kids walking inside, none like me at all. All look like goodie goodies..
"Get out, Sam," Cam says, closing his door. My phone beeps, making me jump and I see that it's Kyle.
Good luck lol. Have fun.
I roll my eyes and open the squeaky door, step out, then slam it shut. I'm in sudden need of nicotine.
The first thing I notice about this junk school, is that no one's smoking. I smile, now one person is, and that's me.
