Mercedes opened her eyes to a dark room. She shifted slightly and reached her hand out to the other side of the best. She was slightly disappointed when the space next to her was still empty. She pulled the blankets closer to herself. She wondered if it was always this cold in the room or if her body was craving Jerome's body heat. She wiped her tears and repositioned herself wincing at the small amount of pain that shot through her leg. She was definitely still mad at him, but she really wished he was there holding her tightly in his arms. She knew there would have to be a talk. She knew that you can't excuse an act of physical abuse no matter how small the act was. She couldn't excuse his threats either.

Jerome rolled over in his sleep and landed with a hard thud on the floor. He set up groaning. He realized he was on the couch and he suddenly remembered everything. For a moment he wanted to go get in the bed with her, but he was still angry. He knew it was best to stay where he was. He was jealous, but Mercedes had proven time and time again that she loved Jerome and would never cheat or leave him. His mind went straight to her perfectly defined bruises. He closed his eyes and sighed. He felt like shit. He really didn't mean to hurt her. He was out of his mind, but that's just who he is. Someone that is always out of their mind. He knew now what she was doing. She was trying to distract the men so Jerome could get what he wanted. She was his perfect partner, but it might not stay that way. Not after this fight. It was the second screaming match they had except this time, he actually left marks on her. Jerome wasn't really used to the whole relationship thing, but he knew in his heart that he did not want to a physical abuser. He was used to physical abuse, and he was also used to physically harming others, but this time, he knew he never wanted to do it again.

Jerome opened his eyes to the sound of laughter and talking from the kitchen. He set up and stretched. He stood up and sleepily walked into the kitchen. The room got silent. Everyone stared at him. When Mercedes finally turned around, she gently spoke.

"Good morning.... I made coffee... there's enough left... would you like some...?"

The tension in the room high and present. Jerome nervously spoke.

"Sure... I would love some..."

Jerome stood by the kitchen doorway and didn't move. Mercedes turned around with his cup and sighed.

"Jerome. Come sit down. It's just a cup of coffee."

Jerome cautiously set at the table. Everyone looked away from him. He was slightly annoyed at how he was being treated. Mercedes noticed the tension again and spoke.

"Well, it is awkward enough in here. I think it's time for everyone to break off for the day."

Mercedes turned to Jerome. She was moving better, but still hurting a little.

"There's leftover breakfast food in the pans on the counter. I trust you can fix a plate and eat."

Jerome watched as everyone, including Mercedes, left him in the kitchen alone. TaTyana sighed and looked at Mercedes when they entered the living room.

"What are you going to do today?"

Mercedes smiled.

"I'm going to see Bruce. He's been texting and calling about the baby... I'd love to catch up with him actually..."

TaTyana nodded.

"What about your face...?"

Mercedes sighed.

"It'll be okay.."

After everyone left, Mercedes sighed and grabbed her jacket. She heard footsteps behind her. She slowly turned around and saw Jerome standing a few steps into the livingroom. He raised an eyebrow.

"Where are you headed?"

"Wayne manor. Bruce has been texting and trying to call about the baby. It's time he knows there isn't going to be one."

Jerome's expression didn't change.

"Yes, I am lying and I'm going to be a slut with a whole group of men. Maybe we'll throw in some females if we are lucky enough to find some."

Jerome narrowed his eyes.

"That's not even what I said!"

Mercedes shook her head and grabbed the doorknob.

"I'm not arguing with you again. See you later J."

Without another word, Mercedes left the apartment shutting the door behind her. They left Jerome alone.

Mercedes stood at the door after knocking. A few moments later the door opened.

"Oh, miss Helleman..."

She smiled weakly knowing her bruises were being stared at.

"Hey Alfred.... is Bruce home...?"

Alfred opened the door further.

"Please come in. He is in the study."

She followed Alfred.

"Master Bruce, miss Helleman is here."

Mercedes watched as Bruce turned around excited.

"Mercedes. I was waiting to here from you...."

Mercedes noticed him staring.

"A minor argument. I'm okay I promise."

Bruce stepped forward.

"How's the baby..?"

Mercedes looked away sad.

"There won't be one..."

Bruce looked concerned.

"No Bruce... I just had... a miscarriage... the bruises though... yes Jerome caused them..."

 "Are you sure you're okay...?"

Mercedes smiled and nodded.

"I'm giving him the cold shoulder. It's fine. He slept on the couch last night and hasn't tried to touch me again since last night, but we will have a talk about this. I'm not excusing his behavior at all."

Bruce nodded.

"Have you found anything out?"

"My parents are still alive. They were actually cloned and are apart of that stupid owl society."

Bruce's eyes grew wide. Mercedes looked at him confused.

"You know about them..?"

Bruce looked at Alfred and they both sighed.

"Oh I know about them definitely."
