"Hello miss Williams. I cannot tell you what a delight it is to work with you."
TaTyana stayed still and stared at the ceiling. Strange stepped towards the operating table.
"I chose to work on you first because I believe your animal powers are incredible. My development in research will give you more power than you ever hoped for."
TaTyana turned her head to face him.
"I want nothing from you! You turned me into this before I was even born!"
Strange frowned.
"I so hoped that you would be more willing and excited about this process. I have to be honest and say that is lengthy and will be extremely painful."
Strange held up a bag of blood.
"This miss Williams is a special blood of all different animals that I mixed together. Hopefully is make it easier for you to transform. I'm afraid that while I send the blood through your body, it will attack some of your original blood. It will be painful, but you will still have your own DNA and blood by the end."
TaTyana struggled against the restraints. Strange laughed.
"No need to be afriad."
"Let me up!"
The man in the room with Mercedes and her father smacked her across the face. Her father spoke clearly.
"I would shut up if I were you."
Mercedes glared at her father. He turned around holding a slimy glob. He stepped towards the table.
"We need you to eat this."
Mercedes turned her head in disgust.
"What the fuck?! I'm not eating that shit!"
Her father huffed.
"I would rather not have to shove it down your throat. This contains a virus that will also be in the chip and remote for the chip. It will ensure that once we put you into attack mode, you will kill anyone no matter who it is. The virus will mutate your blood a little if left in there long enough."
Mercedes shook her head.
"I am not eating the fucking nasty ass shit! You are not controling me that way!"
Her father nodded to the other man. Mercedes struggled as they forced her mouth open and her dad shoved the glob down her throat. The taste was horrid, and it burned. The smell was enough to knock someone out. Her father shook his head.
"I told you to just eat it."
Mercedes wanted more than anything to vomit again, but her body didn't have the urge. She closed her eyes only to open them after the level of pain that ran through her body. She tried to sit up. Her father stroked her hair as she tried to get away from him.
"Don't fight it butterfly. The pain will be worse."
Tears streamed down her cheeks, and she screamed until her throat burned even more. Her father left the room and stopped just outside the door. Mercedes's mother was standing there with a horrified look.
"You're not having second thoughts again are you dear?"
Her mother looked at her father with sad eyes.
"She's our daughter... and we've..."
Mercedes's father stepped closer.
"Does Dr. Strange need to have a look at you again?"
Her mother shook her head and smiled.
"No. Her screaming is just annoying."
The other man leaves the room, smiling.
"She's secure. We should go eat."
Her father smiled at her mother.
"Yes. Let's go celebrate."
Mercedes closed her eyes, hearing the footsteps leaving the door. She pictured Jerome and then Jeremiah. She wanted anyone to come save her. She didn't care who it was. She wanted more than anything at that moment to fall asleep, but she couldn't. She knew it didn't matter if anyone saved her unless they could reverse and cure what they had done to her. Her parents and doctor Strange were winning and Mercedes felt helpless. She felt sick. They had injected her with multiple substances that were all working against her. She wondered if she would even be alive for them to use after this. She believed she was dying. She thought about TaTyana and wanted more than anything to help her.
TaTyana laid numb and unable to move. There was one thought in her head. If Mercedes's parents or Jerome didn't kill her, TaTyana wanted to. She shook her head knowing it was the toxins making her feel that way, but she was angry at Mercedes. She thought about Ed and hoped he was safe. She knew Mercedes was right about her being a hypocrite. She didn't really want to lose her best friend. The stress that everyone was under weighed heavy. The life threatening situations were too many.
