Lee turned to Jim. She was fiercely trying to stop a phone call from ending.

"Mercedes! Where are you?! What do you mean you can't tell me?! You're safe? Don't hang up!"

Jim stepped forward confused. Lee sighed.

"Mercedes says that someone rescued her and that she's safe. She wouldn't tell me who she's with or where she is."

Jim rubbed the back of his head. He squeezed her shoulder gently.

"We know she is a nice girl, but stubborn... She will do what she feels is best for her..."

"TaTyana! Bailey! Rid!"

Jerome ran through the apartment, frantic. He couldn't find Jasper anywhere. The girls came running into the living room, concerned. Jerome paced back and forth, scared. TaTyana tilted her head. Jerome spoke worriedly.

"I can't find Jasper! I looked everywhere for that fucking dirty alley cat! Mercedes is going to me when she comes back! Have you guys seen him?!"

TaTyana gently shook Jerome.

"Calm down. We will help you look for him. I'm sure he's around."

Bailey nodded and they decided to split up.

Mercedes set quietly next to Jeremiah,  moving her fork around her breakfast. Jeremiah frowned.

"Are you not hungry?"

Mercedes sighed and took a sip of her coffee.

"No, I am and Ecco did a wonderful job. It's just...."

Jeremiah knew she was still thinking about his plan he revealed to her an hour before. How could he make her understand that he was doing all of this not just for him, but for her as well.

"What can I do to ease your stress?"

Mercedes raised her eyebrows.

"I don't know... maybe... not blow up the city."

Jeremiah groaned.

"I don't know why you insist on being against me."

Mercedes rolled her eyes. Jeremiah stood up with a quickness. The attitude he was receiving was not making him happy.

"Did you just roll your eyes at me?"

Mercedes stood to her feet and stepped forward until she was inches from Jeremiah's face.

"What are you going to do?"

Jeremiah gently grabbed her throat and squeezed. Mercedes smiled. Jeremiah felt his stomach flutter. He let go of her and backed away. Mercedes laughed to herself. Jeremiah set back at the table.

"Why are you still here? You haven't left the house in two days."

Jeremiah cleared his blushing cheeks as best as he could. He turned to her with a small smile.

"You're here. I figured you could use some company that wasn't Ecco."

Jeremiah smirked and Mercedes shook her head laughing.

"You are relentless. But...."

Jeremiah gave an obscuring glance. She laughed at his confusion.

"I do like your company..."

Jeremiah beamed.

"I do conduct myself in a more refined, mature and practical way. I am tame. Not wild."
