Faith opened the door where I saw John. I only saw him a few times through the propaganda commercials that Eden's Gate airs on televisions within Holland Valley, so this is the first time I saw the man in person. He had slick-backed dark brown hair, his icy blue eyes were piercing into my soul. I didn't get a good view of what he was wearing due to his long brown trench coat covering his body. Faith grabbed my shoulder and squeezed it in a 'good luck' kind of way before walking away and heading off to the chapel. Her touch made me cringe a little bit. "Ready?" John questioned me.
"Yeah," I muttered underneath my breath as I slowly walked out of the room. The walk to the chapel with John was silent, other than John saying, "You better enjoy this and do your job."
"Why Johnny?" I questioned.
John displayed a look of pure annoyance on his face, which allowed me to smirk. "Don't you ever call me that again. Also, if you don't follow your role and do your job and you make all of our lives difficult, I will make sure that myself, Faith and Jacob will make your life ten times worse. We will break you down to the point that you're an absolute mess to where you have to accept the world of The Father in your hearts and accept us as your own," John explained. "You wouldn't want to be on Jacob's bad side," he quickly added. I stayed quiet, not wanting to piss him off more so than I already have. John and I reached the doors of the church, I saw two cult members standing in front of the doors. Both of them were staring right at me, wondering why an outsider was on their property. "Remember, know your role," John said loud enough for me to hear as the two cult members opened the doors.
When the opened the doors, it allowed me to get a better look at the inside of the church. It was dimly lit while giving off a grungy vibe to me. The cultists in the room all turned around when they saw me and John enter and walk down the walkway, their eyes burning into my skin. I looked up at the altar and saw Joseph there. Even though his eyes were staring at me, he was making me feel something more different than everyone else. His gaze was making my heart skip beats. What is wrong with me? As well at the altar, I saw Faith standing there still with a huge smile on her face. I saw another man there, I didn't get a good look at him but I assumed that it was Jacob that John had mentioned to me.
My face remained stone cold as John and I reached the altar. When we got there, John grabbed my hands and dragged it over to Joseph and when Joseph's hand touched mine, it sent chills up and down my spine and my body was fighting off a smile that wanted to appear on my face. For fuck sakes, what's wrong with me?! "Nice to meet you again, Lilith," Joseph greeted loud enough for me to hear. "Hope you're excited about the next chapter in your life because of this moment."
"As excited as I'll ever be," I answered with sarcasm laced in my voice.

"I may pronounce you husband and—"
Just before the priest said the words that would seal my fate for the rest of my life, the doors of the small chapel busted open. My head whipped towards the door and my eyes landed squarely on the person with the cowboy hat that I recognized instantly. "Dad!" I yelled out.
Earl Whitehorse looked up at me and a smile came across his face. "Lilith!" He said with joy and cheerfulness in his voice. I looked over at the people that were on either side of him; I recognized one of them being Deputy Staci Pratt. He usually kept me company while back at the station if he wasn't doing anything and my dad couldn't take me out on the field. The other man I didn't recognize right away at first. He had shaggy light brown, almost blonde hair that almost was trying to cover his face. He was wearing what you would usually find on a U.S. Marshall, allowing me to figure out that he was a Marshall.
Joseph motioned for Jacob and John to grab a hold of me, ensuring that at least for the time being I wouldn't make a run for it now that the police showed up. I also saw that the Marshall and Earl were bickering about something, which piqued my interest a little bit. The Marshall had enough and shoved a paper in Joseph's face as he said, "Joseph Seed. We have a warrant issued for your arrest. On what we thought was one count of kidnapping with the intent to harm," he looked at me briefly before returning his gaze to the Eden's Gate leader. "But from what the looks, it's two counts of kidnapping with the intent of harm. Step forward, and have your hands out where we can see them."
What happened next even took me by surprise. Joseph did what the Marshall told him to do without throwing a fuss. "There they are...the Locusts in our garden. You see, they've come for me. They've come to not only rip me away from all of you, my children; they've also come to rip me away from my beautiful wife to be, Lilith."
"What?!" Earl exclaimed.
He looked at me to see if I can provide an answer to this situation. I nodded my head in a 'no' motion; which was something that the two men holding on to me saw. They each gave me a squeeze on the arm they were holding, giving me a little warning to not do that again. "They've come to destroy all that we have built," Joseph continued to say.
Just as those words left his mouth, cult members that were in the chapel rose from their seats and stood in between everyone at the altar and the police on the floor. As the crowd was getting a bit rowdy, and to make sure my protection and to not run away, Joseph looked up at John and Jacob and nodded his head. Jacob let go of his hold on me, but John immediately ushered me out of the chapel, almost pulling me out. "What the Hell was that?!" I yelled.
When the two of us got into the room that I have woken up in, John opened the door and practically tossed me in there. "Just stay here into we get you again," was what he said before shutting the door.
I ran a hand through the hair, trying to figure out the next course of action. Which for the time being was me slowly opening up the door to check out the action that may be going on outside. From what I saw, I saw Earl and company escort Joseph out of the chapel. That placed a smile on my face. What put a bigger smile on my face? I looking at either side of the doorway and I didn't see anyone guarding the door. Something I figured would happen; everyone is too focused on what happens with Joseph that they forgot about me.
So with that in mind, I opened the door just wide enough for me to slip out; dove behind the building then jumped over the fence and made my way around without getting caught by anyone. Just as I thought I would finally be free, I saw flames that made me stop in my tracks. Flames that were coming out of a helicopter that must've crashed. The only person that I saw was Joseph standing high and proud on top of something that made him oversee all of the cult members that came towards him. Seeing that made my heart stop.
That was the same helicopter that my dad was on if I was able to see Joseph beside it after being escorted out of the chapel.
"Everything is going according to—"
"Uh, Father," someone said as he walked up to Joseph and the group. "I'm afraid I have some bad news."
Joseph looked at that person and asked, "What is it, my child?"
"Your wife to be. She's...she's gone."
SHIT!
"What do you mean she's gone?" Joseph questioned. I could tell by his tone of voice that he was getting angry, but was trying to conceal the anger in his voice.
"She's gone. We went to grab her after what we have heard, and she just...vanished."
"I'll have my best men and women on the hunt for Lilith, stationed on the ground, in the sky and in the waters. I'll have John, Faith, and Jacob be the head of the search efforts inside their respective reasons. We need Lilith brought back here to me. Alive."
Nope, fuck that was the thought running through my head as I took off running after Joseph said those words.

"So I've only been home for about twenty-four hours it feels like. In that span, I've been kidnapped, forced to almost become a cult leader's wife, saw my dad dead presumably and now I'm a part of a manhunt to be brought back to that same cult leader," I muttered underneath my breath as I was walking through a part of the forest trying to get back to my home. "This is great. Should've stayed in fucking Missoula."
As I walked, I ended up stepping on a twig that made a very loud snapping noise. The noise brought attention to someone as I heard their voice yell, "There she is! Hit her with the Bliss bullets!"
I restarted my running when I heard those words yelled out; avoiding bullets being flown in each and every direction.
What stopped me from running wasn't a bullet making an impact with my body. It was me tripping over a tree root in the ground that I haven't seen and I fell on the ground, head hitting on something metal which knocked me out in the process.
