Wheaty gave me a once over as he saw me climb inside the Wolf's Den. "Long time no see, Lily. Man Jacob has done a number on you. How the fuck are you still walking?" He questioned.
I shrugged my shoulders. "Honestly, I have no fucking idea how I managed to survive that fucking family. Where's Tammy? She said she needed to talk to me about something?" Wheaty pointed to where Tammy was located. "Thanks."
As I started to walk away, Wheaty took notice of my shoulder and what Joseph had done to it. "How many more do you need to get all of them?" Wheaty questioned.
I stopped walking and turned to look at him. "What?"
"The sins they carved into your body. You have like...how many? Five? You just need two more before you become the 'Ultimate Sinner' in the eyes of the cult?" Wheaty questioned with a small laugh.
I let out a laugh of my own. "I guess," I said before turning back around and went on my way to find Tammy.
When I found her, Tammy looked at me and gave me the same once over that Wheaty gave me. After making a few tsk noises Tammy commented, "Man, Lilith, Dutch, your father and Eli were right about ya. You're one Hell of a fighter, looking like Hell and still standing."
"Yeah, my dad told me that a lot growing up from what I remember. You almost have to be nowadays with what's going on. If you don't want to fight, just go join the other side and just try not to die," I explained. "But anyway, what did you want to talk to me about? Not to sound impatient, but could it hurry?"
Tammy gave a quizzical look on her face. "You got a hot date or something? I mean, with Joseph feeling the way he does about, I figured you've done the same to some of the men in this county," were the words that left Tammy's mouth which was followed by a laugh.
I jokingly rolled my eyes. "Not exactly. However, my best friend Sharky is chilling up on the surface by himself. If you leave a guy like him alone with his own devices, don't be surprised if whoever leaves the Den discovers a fire that was made by him if he's left alone for a set time."
Tammy looked at me before saying, "You got a point. Okay, I'll make this short and sweet and give you more details over the radio later. I need you, and maybe Sharky if you want to bring him along, to go to the Stone Ridge Chalet. It's a training center for The Chosen. I need you to destroy that center with explosives. So it's kind of something that Sharky would love. Just needs to not use fire."
A small laugh left my mouth. "Okay, that'll be a thing we'll do."
*_*_*
"A mission where explosives and explosions are a requirement? Oh, hell to the motherfuckin' yeah!" Sharky exclaimed loud enough for me to hear as we were placing the first explosive where we were supposed to.
I let out a small laugh as we went over to the next floor after placing the explosive. "Right!? However, before I place this explosive, I need to get something through your head that spells literal life and death."
"Which is?" Sharky questioned.
When we got to the floor, I stopped and looked at Sharky straight dead in his eyes. "When I place this explosive where it needs to go, we only have fifteen seconds to run like fuckin' Hell to get out of here before it explodes. I've chosen this floor to do last over the other is because we have a beeline to the exit to get out of there."
Sharky nodded his head in a 'yes' motion. "Yes, ma'am. We'll run for the hills."
After I set up the bomb, I and Sharky ran out of the house when Tammy gave the all-clear for the bombs being set over the radio. When the fifteen seconds came and went, the bombs went off and the house went up in explosions and flames. "Good fucking riddance," I heard Tammy say over the radio.
"It's beautiful," I complimented.
After Tammy and I talked for a little bit I ended the radio communication as Sharky commented, "Well that's amazing. It makes me want to burn things now."
"To be fair, when don't you want to burn things?" I questioned as I and Sharky went over to the car that we used to get here from the Den and got on it.
"You got a point," Sharky commented.
Sharky and I climbed into the car – Sharky in the passenger side and myself in the driver's side – ready to drive back over to the Den to see what Eli and/or Tammy have in store for us to help take down Jacob. When we were all set, Sharky turned the radio on to get some music in the vehicle.
Just, unfortunately, it was the song that I didn't want to hear anytime soon.
Only you
Can make this world seem right
My body immediately tensed up, stiff as a rock. My eyesight started to redden from the sides inwards. Not now. Please, not now. Sharky looked over at me, face heavy with concern. "Uh, Lily, baby girl," Sharky started, using the nickname for me that he's only said to me when he was straight up wasted with alcohol in his system. "Are you alright?" He questioned. After he asked that question, I whipped my head over to look at him; my face was etched with evil. Sharky opened his mouth to say something, but when I reached my hand over towards him in a way where I wanted to cause harm to the man, Sharky immediately opened the door and almost practically jumped out of the car. "Well, fuck! If you wanted some action like that, Lily you could've just asked!" Sharky yelled out. I immediately climbed out of the car myself when he said that and charged after him. "Oh fuck!" Sharky yelled out as he ran for the hills, me following close behind.
