Adelaide gave me a huge hug when she saw me approach her in the marina after retrieving her helicopter Tulip from the Peggies. "I want to thank you so much honey for bringing me my Tulip back!"
"It's no problem, Addie. Not one of my friends decided to want to hang out today and help me with the cult; no one is answering their radios or anything. That, and Sharky and Hurk are probably being drunk off somewhere knowing them. So I figured I can handle bringing you Tulip back solo," I said while shrugging my shoulders.
Adelaide opened her mouth to say something, but my radio going off stopped her. "Well, that's going to change," she commented as I got my radio off of my waist and brought it to my mouth.
"Hello, Lilith," John greeted. His voice brought a chill down my spine and hate flowing through my body. I hadn't heard his voice since I was in his bunker.
I rolled my eyes. "What the fuck do you want, asshole?" I growled.
"Your actions have consequences, you know," John declared.
"What the fuck are you talking about?"
"You know damn well what I'm talking about. You're creating this resistance against me and my family and are trying to take us down. You even got my poor little sister to help out in your efforts – have you got no shame at all?"
"Just to let you know, I didn't force Abby into this. You guys forced her out when you threatened her family. She's more than willing to help me take you guys down. She would do it all by herself if given the chance."
John let out a cackle. "I've gathered all your friends here in Falls End to Atone for your sins. You're welcome to join us. After all, if it weren't for you, they wouldn't even be in this predicament—"
"Go fuck yourself, John!" I shouted.
Completely ignoring what I've just said, John went on to say, "This is your last chance to say yes, Lilith. Don't be late."
As I ended that radio conversation Adelaide commented, "Well, guess that's probably why everyone's busy on your end, honey."
"Yeah probably. Hey, I know I just brought back Tulip, but do you mind if I borrow it to get myself to Falls End?" I questioned.
"I'll do you one better, Lily. I'll even fly you there myself," Adelaide answered as the two of us climbed into the helicopter and made our way over to Falls End.
When the two of us eventually did, Adelaide lowered the helicopter down just low enough to the ground so I can jump out of it safely. Since she knew I would barely hear her because of the helicopter itself, she placed a hand on my shoulder and squeezed it in a way of telling me to be careful with John. I waved goodbye to her as I jumped out of the helicopter. As Adelaide was making her exit out of Falls End, I looked at the church in front of it. It was decorated in a way to mark that an event was taking place here; there was a red carpet leading up to the doors of the church and it looked eerily similar to the set up that was used for Abigail and Aiden's wedding. A sigh left my mouth as I walked up to the church doors. However, when I opened the door, the instance action of a Peggie hitting me in the head with the butt of his weapon occurred; the hit was hard enough on my head that it rendered me woozy and me landing on it when I fell backwards on the steps knocked me out cold.
When I back to reality, the first face I saw was a Peggie with a gun pointed at my face and his shoe firmly planted on my stomach. The first thing I heard was the noise that was made by a tattoo gun. I looked over and saw John, straddling my waist making sure that I wouldn't escape, carving another sin – this time on my chest. Now there's the pain was the thought running through my head when the searing pain from his actions was running through my body. Just as the Peggie with the gun to my face removed his foot from my stomach and backed away from me, I immediately reached my hand over and grabbed John's wrist. "Hold still," he demanded. "It's supposed to say 'wrath'...not 'rat'." As he continued to carve into my skin, he added on, "Sin must be exposed so that it may be absolved. If we hide our sins, we hide us...you will not hide any longer. Your true self will spill out on to this floor for all to see," while trying to tune out the screams I was making.
