When I woke up, I found myself in a living room/kitchen style combined room. I sat up on the bed, which had the people in the room take notice. "Holy shit, she's awake," most of the people commented before they walked out of the room.

I rolled my eyes as I saw Wheaty approach me with a small bowl in his hands and sat down beside me. "Here," he said as he handed me the bowl. "It's just yogurt. Take it slow, I know you're very hungry, but it's bad if you eat so quickly all at once."

As I took a spoonful of yogurt and ate it, I looked at Wheaty. "Why?" I croaked out.

"Why what?" Wheaty questioned.

"Why did you and Eli save me?"

Wheaty shrugged his shoulders. "I think it's just a case of right place right time. However, Eli says that it's because you've done so much for everyone here in Hope County. You've done so much for everyone down in Holland Valley and the Henbane River, Eli believes that you can do just as much damage here in the Mountains against Jacob. Both Earl and Dutch have spoken highly about you to Eli."

"They did?" I questioned as I slowly took another spoonful of my yogurt. "I'm just me," I added.

"Yeah," Wheaty answered. "They're super proud of you, Lily. Now," he placed a hand on my shoulder. "Try and eat up. Slowly. When you're all ready to move around, come talk to Eli. I think he wants to talk to you about something." Wheaty let go of my shoulder, got up from the couch and walked out of the room.

A few minutes had passed by as I tried to eat my yogurt to the best of my ability. As I finished what I could stomach, I placed the bowl down on the table and got up off of the couch. When I felt like I was good enough to take a step without toppling over, I maneuvered through whatever I'm in just enough to find Eli in some rundown looking room. "Nice to see you standin'," Eli started. "Been trying to track you down, Lily. Dutch and your father speak highly of you."

"Yeah, Wheaty said that too," I said.

"Look, I'll get right to it. I know what you did down south. You got The Father thinking twice now; ruffled up his feathers more so than anyone else could. That's good for us. With the way we're bleedin' bodies up here, we need someone like you on our side."

After my talk with Eli, and him telling me that they did bring me back to the Wolf's Den and didn't kidnap me on behalf of the cult, I exited the bunker, readjusting my vision to the bright light from the sun. When my vision had been adjusted, I climbed onto the nearest ATV I found and contemplated my next course of action. Do I go guns blazing and try and take back the Mountains? Or do I just relax for the day after the Hell that Jacob put me through? Or even find a friend that's available to let them know that I'm alright 'cause they probably heard of what happened and what I went through. "Hello," I said over the radio. "Earth to any of my friends, you there?" I questioned.

"Lily!" Nick's voice rang through the radio. "So glad to hear that you're still with us! Where are you? I'm coming to get you."

"Relax, Nick, I'll come to you actually, don't worry about me. I'm just up in the Mountains after being rescued by Eli and the Militia after Jacob kidnaped me and tried to brainwash me or something," I explained.

Nick didn't give a response right away, but I heard him muttering some choice words underneath his breath. "Just get over here, Lily. Please?"

"Will do."

I placed my radio back where I usually place it and started up the ATV, driving over to the Rye residence.

When I got to the house, I hopped off the ATV and made my way up to the front door and before I had a chance to knock, the door opened up and Kim quickly ushered me into the house. "So, so, so, so, so glad to see you walking on your feet and...not under the influence of Jacob just yet," she explained with a huge smile on her face. She escorted me over to the couch where she sat me down.

"Where's Nick?" I questioned.

"After he talked to you over the radio, he had to go get something knowing you'll like it after going through what you did," Kim answered.

As soon as those words left her mouth, the engine from a plane was heard in the hangar. When the engine died, I heard a very familiar voice yell out, "Fuckin' knew she would make it out alive!"

"Did he seriously...?"

Kim nodded her head in a 'yes' fashion. "Yeah, Sharky stayed here for as long as you were up there scared out of his mind about you. All of us care about you, but he does that more than anyone here combined."

I opened my mouth to say something, but in one swift movement it felt like, Sharky rushed into the living room, came over towards me and picked me up in a bear hug. "Fuckin' missed you, Shorty!"

"Can't. Breathe!"

"Oh," Sharky said with a normal vocal volume as he placed me back down on the couch. "Sorry about that, Lil-bean."

Joseph's POV

Anger was coursing through my veins.

I was more than expecting both John and Faith to do their parts in trying to help out the cause with Lilith; they all did simple things. John tried to cleanse and purify Lilith's soul so she would not only be a suitable fit for me – a fit that sees God's plan perfectly – but also a suitable member for Eden's Gate. Faith took it a step further and pushed the limit so to speak when she included her father in trying to help me out. I saw and knew what she had the intentions of doing to Lilith, but some would see her actions being pushed to the limits of what is and isn't okay.

Jacob? He decides that once Lilith caused just enough mayhem in his region to catch his attention, he had his men to kidnap her, brought her to have her effectively live in a cage for the time being and have her start the trials.

Something I didn't want her to go through. I know she's a fighter; she's showing that already fighting us and trying to take us down and out. I know she has those tendencies that Jacob tries to find out of people, so I don't know why he's doing what he's doing to my love.

"You wanted to see me, Joseph?" Jacob questioned as he walked down the aisle of my church, getting my attention in the process. A sermon was subjected to start in little less than half an hour and I was preparing myself for it. Something to take my mind off of Lilith, but to no avail.

I looked up at my older brother. "Yes, Jacob. I need to talk to you about Lilith."

"What about her?" Jacob questioned. "I feel like we're almost there in getting her over with us. Even though she's still a stubborn insubordinate," he explained.

"But do we need to have her go through the trials? You've seen personally how that does to people if they don't make it through," I pointed out.

An 'oh' look came across Jacob's face. "That's funny; you just said that she is a soldier in her own right with the battles she's fighting against us. Yet, you have thoughts that she won't make it through my trials?" He questioned. "Did I get that right?" I didn't give a response. "You know what, brother," Jacob started. "You're head over heels in love with Lilith, hm?"

"Is it that obvious?" I questioned. "There's just something about her. Just something about her makes me want her underneath my wing and protect her from everything in the world. In this case, protect her from you."

Jacob let out a little laugh. "Alright, alright, alright, I'll try and not have her to continue them because it's what you want. However, no real guarantees."
