"He deserved it." Caspian remarked like a child. Every heavy footstep echoed down the hall way. His fist never came unclenched from the last punch he threw.
"I'm sure he did." Susan taunts as she stormed into the room. Hormones bounced off each wall. She was disappointed, he was frustrated.
Swiftly, she had turned on her heels. His handsome features were scattered in blood. The very sight caused her stomach to turn.
Nausea flushed through her wind pipes before she could scold him. Panicking, she ran to the closes vase and let the gushing liquid flow from her carefree mouth.
"Are you okay?" He worried as he held her hair back. "You can't still be sea sick from our boat trip last week. What did the nurse tell you?"
Susan couldn't control the oozing long enough to catch her breath. She had been reluctant to inform Caspian about her news; her life was in America with her mother, her friends and she couldn't abandoned them. However, her heart was and always had been in Narnia; The place she called home for many years.
In silence, they both pondered on the situation.
"I should apologise to Peter."
"I need to tell you something first." Her brown locks fell upon her shoulders as she sat back against the wall. Caspian perched next to her and reassuringly grasped her hand.
"You're pregnant?" He quipped with a smirk upon his face. It wasn't until he realised Susan's face had tensed up that it wasn't as funny as he had once intended. Slowly, she nodded her head.
"I mean I thought it was a coincidence. You had the same symptoms as my aunt Prunaprismia but I thought it was unlikely." Caspian's body shifted uncomfortably. Only a month ago he had been engaged to someone else, planned a future to someone else and there he was, unmarried and about to become a father. Caspian had an old soul; 'This wasn't the Telmarine way, and it wasn't Narnia's.' Was all he could hear running around his head. He strongly believed in marriage before children as he had been taught that all his life.
"Are you disappointed?" She cried. Her heart felt empty. He had yet to seem interested or excited as she had hoped he would. 'I can leave Narnia, raise this baby on my own' ran through her head.
"Why would I be disappointed? I love you and I will always be proud to love you. It just took me by surprise that's all." Lovingly, he wrapped his arm around her before placing a soft kiss upon her forehead. "Is it mine?" He joked which caused her to roll her eyes and playfully punch him in the arm. "Who else knows?" He wondered.
"Lucy and Lilliandil." She paused before taking a deep breath. "You should know, she's pregnant too."
"Lucy?!" He shouted.
Uncontrollably, she started to laugh. This took Caspian by surprise, however, it made him realise his mistake.
"You meant Lilliandil, didn't you?" His face flushed red under his bruises.
"Let's get you cleaned up so you can apologise to Peter."
