Chapter's Two

Karkat hasn't spoken to his friends in five months now. Within those five months Karkat has only been able to afford Radiation twice with his new medicare. Five months since he got another job and stopped eating regularly and sleeping regularly. Five whole months since he found out he had Cancer. Within these five months he has become a bit sicker and sicker, not sure what to do but hope he can make it.

Sadly he can't hope very much. Having two different kinds of cancers in the same area kinda crushes his hopes of getting better.

Karkat laid in bed staring up at the ceiling, unable to sleep once again. He had spent another night coughing up nothing and blood into his hands and the sink. His doctor told him it was normal with having lung cancer, didn't stop him from freaking out.

He had gotten off his first shift of work four hours ago, staying awake for three. His next shift at his other job starts in two hours. Karkat decided he should get ready and head to work, stopping to get something to eat. Karkat pushes himself up and out of bed. Rubbing his face as he swings his legs over the edge.

Once up he showers and gets dressed, grabbing his keys, phone, and wallet. Slipping into his shoes he heads out the door, locking it behind him. He stuffed his hands in his pockets as he walks down the streets of Skaia City. The sun peaking a little bit past its highest point in the sky, signalling it was afternoon. Trolls and humans alike going about their day like any other, ignoring the sad troll walking in his work clothes.

Karkat became lost in thought about his days of Highschool. Remembering the days were it was simple and not depressing and stressful. Like when John had gotten his license and would take him and the others out to eat for lunch. Terezi and him making fun at one another in the back as Tavros sat on Gamzees lap. Jake would be in the passenger seat trying to shut us up so John could focus on the road.

Those days ended Senior year when Tavros got into an accident rendering him paralyzed. Terezi was in the car with him and Vriska as well when it happened. Vriska had lost her arm and eye were Terezi lost her sight completely. Soon after that they all stopped hanging out. Friends came and went and the rest of the year was depressing.

If he could have any wish it would be to go back and change that crash, but it probably won't change the fact of having cancer. Soon the sound of a car honk interrupts him and he is snapped back into reality. He hadn't notice the red light turning green when he started crossing the street. Now a care was heading straight towards him at lightning speed. Karkat closes his eyes and braces himself.
