Chapter Twelve

Three weeks later Dave stood in Karkat's place finally finished unpacking his stuff. He had finally decided to move in with Karkat, trying to make it easier for him. Every since they started dating Karkat has been getting more sleep and eating more. Karkat still worked to jobs And Dave decided to get a second one as well. They both have been able two save up enough money to go get his scans more often which made Dave smile

Three months passes by and Karkat slowly got in touch with his friends, feeling much better and not wanting to push them away anymore. They all decided to go out and eat at Golden Corral since it was cheep. Dave held Karkat's hand at the entrance when his friends approached. Dave was Surprised to see that he recognized a couple of the people. "Dave is that you?"

John was the first to speak up and he gave Dave a hug. "I havent seen you online in a while Mr. Turntecgodhead how you been?" Dave did a little wavy sing with his hand as go say ify before he gave a thumbs up. "And dating one of my best bros eh, the story of you guys met has to be told." Dave smiles and nods but makes John cock his head in confusion.

"Why you so quiet? Normally your talking bat shit crazy off the walls." Both Dave and Karkat hit their foreheads at the same time. "Jegus fucking Christ strider you never told him?!" It slipped my mind I never thought I would see him in real life and turn out to be your friend.

"Your a complete utter fucking idiot. No wonder why I fucking love you you complete douchebag." Dave couldn't help but smile. "John if you haven't figured it out already because your idiotic think pan runs slower then a shellbeast Dave is a mute." John looked at Dave with wide eyes and put his hand on his shoulder.

"Oh man I'm sorry dude I should of figured it out so much sooner." Its cool bro like I told KitKat here most people think I'm just shy or playing fucking charades. Karkat became the designated translator for Dave and they all went inside. Karkat introduced Dave to some of the people that Dave didn't know which wasn't much. Once inside they all had fun chatting with one another as Dave tried to put chocolate ice cream on Karkat's nose.

They were finished with their meals and all about to leave when Karkat started to cough badly. Dave put a hand on Karkat's back and leaned in close. You ok KitKat? "Yah I'm fine its not too bad." Dave rubbed his boyfriends back just to give him something relaxing.

"What's all up and motherfucking wrong bro? Sounds like one motherfucking bad cough." Gamzee said as John left his husbands side and came over to Karkat and crouched down as Karkat tried to hold in the coughs. "Karkat man you ok? You look a little pail." Dave could feel Karkat shaking under his hand and it dawned on him that Karkat never told his friends.

Dave realizes that Karkat has been pushing away his friends, not wanting to hurt them and not wanting them to treat him with pity. Dave felt like he was just like Karkat, not wanting to hurt or be hurt but wanting to feel normal and not some sick dying person. Dave quickly pulled out his phone and started typing, being a little slow since its been a while. I'm gonna take KitKat home and get him some rest, he hasn't been feeling to bright these days. Hehe must be something going around you know.

"Um ok I hope he gets better soon." John smiles as Dave get Karkat to stand up. Yah me too man me too. Yah thanks again for coming guys it was good meeting and seeing you all. With that Dave and Karkat went home as the others waved goodbye.

At home Dave put Karkat to Bed a d crawled in with him, intertwining their hands together. "Thank you for not telling them." Course babe, I know how it feels to have friends and family treat you like something your not. "yah.... Hey Dave." Sup Kitkat?

"I love you." Dave's eyes widden at the sudden words but he smiled at took off his Shades, placing them on the nightstand. I love you too Karkat. Love you too.
