Chapter Eighteen

Dave walked down to the kitchen at three in the morning to find karkat leaning against the counter half asleep. He had a cup of water on the counter next to him and a bottle of alive next to the cup. Yo KitKat you ok? Karkat didn't respond, probably it was too dark to see his hands move or he's asleep standing up. Dave got closer to Karkat and wrapped his arms around him.

Karkat jumped and nearly slaps Dave but relaxes once he realizes who it is. "Jegus fucking christ don't scare me like that you inflamable douche bag." Dave couldn't help but smile as he shakes his head. Sorry KitKat didn't mean to give you a good jump scare but I had to wake you. Karkat grunted as he stretched a little and rubbed his tired eyes.

You feeling ok? "What huh? Oh, oh yah I'm fine just trouble sleeping is all. Been getting these headaches and chest pains. I'm sure its just from working so hard." Do you think it could also be the cancer?

"Not sure. The thing has only ever affected my cough and breath. But headaches and chest pans are just weird daily symptoms right?" How about we go back to bed, take Ray to go see a movie he's been dying to see then we will drop him off at Johns and Jakes while we go get you checked out ok.

Karkat pondered this for a moment before smiling. "Alright and let's make a deal. When we get home and I'm perfectly fine its you and me and a bed." Dave raised an eyebrow to this and smirked. Deal pretty boy.

Dave suddenly picks Karkat up bridal style and carries him out of the kitchen. Now its off to bed with us sexy. Karkat did his best to hold in his laugh as Dave carried karkat back to bed. He really didn't want to wake up Rayven.

Rayven squirms in Dave's arms as Karkat buys the popcorn and Drinks. "Father can I get M&Ms please?" Karkat looks over at Rayven, his red eyes pleading and his blond hair messy and in his face. "Sure Anything you want. Um sir can you please get me a bag of M&Ms as well."
