"Mom," I yelped, as I was being yanked back.
"Yes, young lady. Surprise. Where were you at this night?" My mom stood infront of me, drilling holes in my face just by her mere glare, for which I would just daze right now.
Did I say you that my knees were trembling? Oh my! They freaking were! I didn't know to face her for I had forgot about facing her earlier when I was emersed in an ocean full of problems. I am a mess, right?
"Mo-mo-mom!" That was a freaking shriek reverberated from the valley of my freaking throat, okay I was nervous, and frantic, and baffled, ah I would faint right now.
"Are you gonna tell me or not?" Wiggling her eyebrows, she asked firmly projecting the fury that dripped in her words, which were mere enough to send a message of distress in the form of shudders through my whole body.
"Yeah, right, um, right, you know, um, you-you know Ezlyn, yeah Ezlyn, oh yeah, she, I-I went to her cafe for a..for a coffee, uh, obviously," I was just casually rolling in the puddle on the mess I was being sucked. My eyelids were collapsed into narrow slits, my head was shaking, I forgot to craft a lie that'd solve the enigma hovering infront of me, my mom.
"So you went from the dance studio, which is few metres away from your house, to another street, to drink a coffee."
"I wanted to meet..Ezlyn, mom," I uttered, confidently as she seemed to buy it.
"In beard and moustache?"
Fuck.
"Yeah-yeah, I guess!"
"Girl, spill the beans right now!" She yelled, glaring at me for she know the sanity that almost dangled down a cliff of my mind, basically she knows that I am insane, well many are, right?
"Beans? I need to go to the kitchen for that.." shifting my gaze down, I tried to ease the air of tension.
Turns out bad idea!
"Shut it, Helen. Do you want to be grounded? Your actions reek off that notion, do you?" Mom yelled, her nostrils not to get flared.
"Mom, I told you, it's nothing, it was just a casual meeting with her as tomorrow is my second interview, and the beard, um, yeah, it was for a.."
"She had a drama, mom," suddenly a husky voice came from behind mom, and my gaze traced it's path and glanced over to meet the fury of my life, my brother, Ken Jane, whom I called Kenji when I was saturated with love for him, a rare phenomenon though I would still dare to call him that as he hate it to the core.
Ken was supposed to attend his party right now. I was wearing his jeans, his T-shirt and his brand new jacket, which had become dirty and damp due to the graceful use of me.
I am dead!
But what did he said, was he covering up for me, uh, after all he was my soul brother. Sweet.
"Drama? She hadn't told me anything about that?" Furrowing her eyebrows, mom asked.
"It happened hastly, that's why, even she didn't tell me. I got a flyer of it on my way to the party, so I came back to check her," he paused after throwing a glare at me, sounding the most serious tone he could pull off.
"And the drama was about?" Mom asked, turning towards me.
I forgot the blurry image of flyer from the cafe. Shit. I hissed and writhed simultaneously. It's time to pack to mars. You don't deserve me earth.
"Mm..Hmm.." I scratched my head thinking, and thinking, and more thinking, nothing happened, nada.
"Battle of Plassey, I guess, she must be having a male role, even in real life too it suits her though," holding his chuckle, Ken uttered.
"Yeah, mom, he's right, the thing that happened at 1847, 46 or 97, I...Um..I guess so, I had the role of a soldier, I kept it as a secret because I wasn't sure about the role, it was awesome mom," I said, enacting a cheerful face.
I should've taken acting as my career, though!
"Yeah, whatever, concentrate and prepare for the upcoming interviews, there won't be any dance classes from today itself." Mom had that air of dead seriousness which was a threat looming over me.
"What the.."
