A shiver ran through my body. Although I hated him, although I wanted to go away, no other words could kill me than Jayden saying it would be our last meeting. Was I attending some office conference? What the hell is happening to me.
I was frozen.
"Not going now? I thought you would be sprinting out of this building the minute you got the keys!"
"Shall I sprint in bikini? Dumb ass." I wanted to resonate some attitude but I felt it is better to just be silent otherwise I would break that ocean swirling inside me, wreaking havoc to my mind.
As I went to his room to change into his shirt and pants, I saw him calling someone.
"Arrange a car to drop her home safely." He was telling to someone.
Quickly I put on the shirt which was long enough and tied my hair. The mirror in his room was big enough but it couldn't reflect my agony rather only shown my face. Ah so mirror's job was to show all these. Great knowledge!
My inner voice is restless now.
Suddenly few thoughts came up. I had a job. I have to fix the problem of Annie. Oh my god what were I thinking. I need to go. After all I can't just hide in here for the rest of my life.
If he is there you might have wanted to stay, right? If he has proclaimed that it was our final meet why should I nag him? Let it be.
I opened the door and saw Jayden standing beside it with a perplexed face. He couldn't take off his eyes from me as if he didn't want to bid adieu.
"Hel."
"Bye Mr. Reyes."
I didn't spare another glance at him rather I took the keys and darted towards the door and shut it with a loud sound. Yes, I was infuriated. Infuriated at my bloody life.

As I reached the cafe, I saw Ezlyn giving coffee to the people.
"Hi, Helen."
"What kind of a friend are you Ezlyn? You didn't even look for me?"
"I..I don't understand. Wasn't you gone for some business meeting. You had messaged me."
"What..When?"
She fished out her phone and showed me, "Ez, I have some business meeting. See ya later."
Bastard.
So she doesn't know anything about the kidnap. It's better to keep her away from such stuff.
"Oh ya. But then you didn't even called me. So I thought.."
"Oh that. You had messaged me not to call. Also I was busy with all the prep." She was preparing snacks for the upcoming event. The aroma has made her cafe heavenly. For a moment I wanted to just stand and smell it whilst forgetting all the hell I was going through.
"Hello Helen Jane." A sharp voice pulled me off the trance.
"Jace, why are you here? Who called you here?" Ezlyn was furious as she saw Jace.
"Oh I thought it was a cafe where anyone can come without an invitation. I didn't know it was your home, sweetheart."
"Ew, if I stand here more, I will slap him." She retorted and went away, murmuring something under her voice.
"She looks cute, doesn't she." He was blushing as he said that.
"Ya she was cursing you, don't forget that."
"Because of you, Helen. Otherwise she is a nice girl."
"Oh Romeo. Why did you come here?"
"Just wanted to see you."
"You mean Ezlyn?"
"Maybe."
His cheeks resembled a red tomato under my gaze. Although I was furious few minutes ago, I wanted to laugh my ass off, given his presence. Such a guy.
"I heard about your dance show. Kinda excited to see it."
"Ah that. There's still time for that." Combing through my hair, I at down in a chair.
"But this brochure says it's in 2 days." He quickly handed that brochure to me in a perplexed look.
"What the fuck! Annie didn't tell me that. And the date was within few weeks." I was shocked as there were so much works to do.
"Well, I only know what the brochure says."
I quickly called Annie. "Annie, why did you put up the show in 2 days? What happened?"
"Hey Helen, Dylan had called me to tell that they had agreed to sponsor our program and it has to be held fast as they had programs on their chart. So I took the offer as it seemed easier."
"What the fuck, Annie. We could've easily pulled that off without that Reyes fucking industries. They once rejected you!" I was shocked to the core that something like that would happen.
I kinda have a gut feeling that Jayden had intentionally agreed to do it because he wanted to get to me. Fuck it.
"Annie you shouldn't have done this to me. Now what'd I tell to Steph?"
"Argh Steph, fucking steph, you could've told me before making her do anything for me. You should've bloody told me. You even know our history. Still you had the audacity to do it." Annie was sneering at me as if I had done a sin.
"You were in a deep shit Annie. I didn't have the time to think about your history and geography. All I wanted was a solution and only Steph came to help."
"I'd rather stop the show than getting her help."
"To hell with your ego." I felt like I was walking in flames. It hurted a lot.
"It's not ego Helen. You won't know..Ever..What did I pass through because of that bitch. She might be your friend but not mine." Annie trembled with words. She sounded like a volcano which is about to erupt.
I chose to stay silent for a moment.
"Leave it Helen. I am sorry for what I did to you. You come back to studio. Students have been asking for you to practise."
"Yeah I will come." I cut the call immediately.
"Helen I need to go as I have a work. See you for the show," telling this Jace went.
"Well well well, what do we have here?" A man in his 40s entered the cafe and sat in front of me. He had thick beard, in which black and white lines ran across. There was a hat on his head and he wore a jacket which etched a cow boy look for him, or may be cow man! There was something dangerous about him. A sinister feeling maybe.
