There were hardly a moment I stopped thinking about him. Would he come searching me or was I just one among his employees to even think about me? The thoughts made my mind go haywire.

Nick's servants brought a a white gown with blue laces and sparkling beads in the neck portion.

It mostly resembled those of mermaid type, and I honestly don't know the correct name as I had little acquaintance with such elegant fashion!

"Helen, you have to dress up quickly as the party would be starting soon," the servant lady told me.

After she went, I closed the doors and went to take a bath. My body was hurting like hell. I almost fell into bathroom but suddenly clutched the door handle.

After taking bath, I quickly got ready, although it was tough to jump into such a dress but I managed to do it anyway.

I let my hair loose, and applied some red colour lipstick which Stephanie had brought me.

For the first time ever in my life, I felt beautiful and perfect!

The time was 4 O' clock and I went down. There were people in the hall who had come for the party. The chatteringa ruffled the air in the large hall, the music was silently floating as it had ceased to exist.

The party had a pastel theme, and everything were according to that. The elegance drifted into it made the hall look classic which made me stun.

"Helen, you are looking not bad!" Nick's voice pushed me out of the trance.

"Yuck man, no other way to complement than this negative touch?" I replied.

"Well, I don't.. I don't have any words Helen Jane!" He seemed lost for a moment.

"Aw speechless in front of my beauty, I knew it Nick!" Winking at him, I chortled.

"Eww, such narcist, you look really bad now, my dear!"

"Come here, Nick! Come closer." I sneered.

He leaned towards me, and I uttered in his ears, my breath fanning his ear lobes, "fuck off."

"Hot!" Nick flustered and went away after having the satisfaction of taunting me but I had captured his occasional stares which seemed to nullify his comments as always.

The music was changed to a nice one, a romantic one infact. I danced with someone from the crowd. It was a smooth one.

"Helen."

Someone called me from behind. That voice! It seemed so familiar.

I turned back to meet his cold gaze. It made me hot and cold simultaneously!

Jayden!

"How did you know I was here?"

"It's easy Helen."

"How in the hell?"

"Can you stop yelling? The crowd will notice. Can we.. can we dance?"

"Okay."

He grabbed my hands, and his one hand snaked around my waist which I made him to take away from there.

"So?" I asked.

"So?"

"Why did you come here?"

"Searching you!"

"Wow!" I was flabbergasted for a second.

"Not really! I had given you a job. An important one."

"Yeah about that. I will ask Nick today."

"No need."

"What the fuck! Why?"

"I already got it. You disappeared without a trace. I got to know about that club thing. You could've told me, Hel!"

"Oh you are my saviour now! Knight in bloody shining armour to protect the damsel in distress? You know, I am going to say something I wanted to say long time ago, can I?" I asked.

"Go ahead." He nodded.

"Fuck You Mr. Jayden."

There was a smile in his face. He suddenly grabbed my waist, made me dance along with him. I wanted to resist but my body was in utter denial.

"Actually I had already got it Helen. I wanted to tell you about it but you were gone by then." He told me.

"Yeah, I had gone to a trip, a leisure trip then I hit myself and ended up in a bed, so happy moments you know. You..you knew about the incident, Jayden. Then why didn't you come fast?"

"Oh you wanted me to come for you?"

"Uh, tongue slip! Not really, I meant..." My words trailed off, flustering inorder to hide my bloody feelings. Why can't my tongue support my lies for once for God sake.

I had never wanted anyone to come for me except this man. It was not to protect me, never, I just wanted to belong with him, I wanted to know he cared for me.

Strange!

My cheeks were blushing under his gaze, which he refused to take away. The moments of his silence had these milestones fixed at each point which I could exactly grasp from his facial expressions.

He looked calm for a heavily conflicted personality. I loved being with him. I love to argue with him. I just don't know why. It's really confusing when such new things happen.

If he stayed any second long, I would just get on my knees only to ask him out and if he agrees I don't know what I'd do, maybe burst out literally, my lungs would collapse! Oh too dark, hazy thoughts Helen.

Just feel his warmth, I mean the warmth of his gaze, that tinge of smile lurking in the corner of his lips, that glow which is hidden behind that pupil of his eyes! Ew my inner voice should be taking some literature classes, seriously dude, I am trying to look normal egoistic girl, not a sucker or a despo like you.

Ok go away from him then, just walk away after yelling or slapping him, that way I'd know you aren't desperate, bloody damn inner voice can't you shut the hell. I am trying to do something productive here.

You're just blushing as hell like a bloody tomato, Helen.

Slowly he leaned towards me, his breath fanning my plump face, he uttered, "you're fired!"
