"So gals, Its getting dark and late, I need to go for a work related to club. Can I drop you two?" Steph asked as she fetched her hand bag to leave after adjusting her hair strands.
"Yes, drop me at Helen's flower shop. I need to get some roses for cemetery." Ezlyn said.
It's for Ezlyn's parent's, it had been years since the accident that took away her life, her dreams and her soul. There wasn't pretty much anything left for Ezlyn to hang on since then, until her aunt and us became her family.
"You coming Hel?" Ezlyn asked.
"No. I'd like to spend some time here. It was all hectic day for me you know. Also I have a mega event," lying wasn't as simple as people assume it to be. "Also Ezlyn you love plants more than flowers, right? There are few in my home, pluck it and plant it near the cemetery, they are of mom's precious collection. She won't mind."
"Ok then." They left.
They seemed happy as if new things are gonna happen to them, new good things!
I slowly turned back to meet the gaze, it was him obviously! I knew he would come although I didn't know why. Maybe some work, may be he just wanted to see me, ah the second one gave me shivers down to the spine.
He suddenly stood up which made me think that he might be leaving, but he trudged towards me and sat opposite to me, returning my glare more intensely.
I acted arrogant, at least for the sake. I sipped the coffee as if he never existed.
"You following me?" I smirked.
"You want me to follow you?" He asked.
"Well, we have had past history of you helplessly pulling out stunts to make me do your dirty jobs, so I am not surprised."
"Oh really! I'm so grateful of your gestures," he replied, there was a smile that seemed to broke his lip's cage.
"Now tell me why are you sitting here? Don't you have another work?"
He was staring at me as if there is no other one around him or as if he didn't wanna see another face. My heart was pounding, which seemed to break my chest.
"I..I wanted to tell you..."
"What? Oh the reason you fired me?!"
"Yes. The thing is, that man Theodore belongs to a gang which is powerful. They came to know his murder and are looking for you."
"What the hell. What did I do?" I was taken aback. I couldn't believe what was happening around me anymore.
"They know it was me but they think you are some assassin who killed their partner. So I thought to fire you from work to keep you..keep you safe."
"There. You showed the patriarchal mindset in you then and there. The thing is I do fear such things but I am not a coward. Even if..."
"Can you for once shut such things? It's not because....ah god it's not because of all that. I want you to keep safe. I don't bloody wanna lose you from my life."
What the hell! Damn! Did he just said that? That!! What should I do?
"Mm why did you say that?" He loves you idiot otherwise why would he say that! Damn god this girl.
"May be..I don't know. I just wanted to say all these. Otherwise I would feel...empty."
"Oh you and your feelings. You can shove those down your throat. You are one manipulative bastard. You fired me now coming back with this stupid explanation. What do you want from me? Got another work?" I retorted, venting my frustration in fury, spreading it's wrath all over the cafe for which people looked at me.
I stomped out the cafe but was suddenly stopped by Jayden who had gripped my arms.
"Hel, don't go." He told.
"Leave me." I wiggled and yelled at him.
"Is there any problem?" A pedestrian asked.
"Nothing just husband-wife issue. I can deal with it, I mean I am dealing with it daily you know," winking at the man he replied with a charm that I have never seen.
"Passengers of the same boat are we," replying us, the man sauntered with a smile as if he understood Jayden perfectly.
"Fuck you Jayden Reyes."
"Really. Where should we go for that Helen Jane?"
Sneering at him, I walked away in hastened steps to get as longer as possible to be away from him. The darkness wrapping the day. The streets were getting busy with people running after work.
I swerved right to alley only to realise that I was being followed. I increased the pace but it was of no avail. I turned my head to sideways to get a clear picture of the one who was following me. Who was he?
The sound of his boots were frightening to the core. Before I could do anything, he grabbed me from my waist and right then a car came in to which I was dragged into.
I was yelling but the place was desolate. I think it's my end as my thoughts slowly drifted into darkness.
