"Why is she here?" You heard Damon's voice from down stairs. You showed up at the Salvatore's mansion this morning out of nowhere. Luckily Damon wasn't home and Stefan let you in, otherwise Damon would probably have killed you right on the porch. Last time you were here it didn't end well between you two and you left for nearly 20 years. "She has to leave Stefan." Damon sounded much angrier now and you were growing anxious. When you lived here it was great. Damon was your best friend, and you were falling deeply in love with Stefan.***1994***You walked up to the front door of the all too familiar mansion. It was your home away from home. You opened the door and walked right in. "Hello?! Is anyone home.""Can I help you?" A voice spoke from behind you. You screamed in surprise before turning around to see Damon towering over you with a welcoming smile."Don't do that to me!" You yelled punching him playfully, and then pulling him into a hug. "What's up?" You asked as you released him from your grip."Oh ya know, the usual, drink, sleep, hide out in the shadows awaiting my next victim." He said seriously and you gave him a death stare. "Just kidding." He added reassuring you. You fell backwards on a couch casually and crossed your legs."Where's Stefan?" You asked him trying to hide the smile that appeared on your face just by the thought of him."Why?" He asked slightly offended. "Do I bore you?""No. I just need to talk to him." You watched him roll his eyes and then he was gone in a flash. A moment later, Stefan sauntered into the room. You both smiled when you saw each other and you stood up to greet him. "Hi." You said shyly."Hi." He replied mimicking your tone. You took in his appearance for a moment in silence. You were both basically in love with each other, but neither of you ever made a move. It would be too weird for Damon, but you didn't ignore your feelings for each other. You talked like you were in a relationship though you never took it beyond a kiss here and there. Your expression went from dreamy to serious in a second."I have a serious request for you." You finally spoke."Anything." He spoke."Well it's my 19th birthday is next week...""You're so old." He interrupted you joking."Oh please." You replied sarcastically. "Anyway, I was thinking, because, ya know, I'm an adult, and adults can think for themselves, and do whatever the hell they want to do.""You're rambling.""Right... I was wondering if you... I would really like it if you could, ya know. If you could...""Spit it out." He laughed."I want you to turn me into a vampire." You practically threw up the sentence. You watched his expression become more serious."Damon would kill me." He finally spoke. "We've talked about this before Liz. I can't, he doesn't want you turned. He'd literally kill me." He said seriously, stepping closer to you."Who cares what Damon wants?" You spoke angrily as you looked up into his eyes."I do." Damon said as he walked into the room with a furious expression. "God damn Liz nobody is turning you into a vampire, get that through your stupid head.""Why the hell were you listening to us? Who do you think you are to run my life?" You shouted at him."I was listening to you because I can, and I am going to run your life for as long as you're screwing it up." He replied stepping closer to you."Everyone screws up, so let me screw up just once, please." You yelled."Shut up, you sound like a kid." He spoke so condescendingly it pissed you off."You know what, If I sound like a kid, than why don't I just act like a fucking kid too." You shouting before picking up an antique looking vase and slamming it against the wall."Liz calm down." Stefan spoke up finally. He grabbed your arm softly and stepped in front of you blocking Damon form you view. "Breathe." He said calmly trying to relax you."If Damon wasn't here, would you do it." You said looking straight into his eyes. "Would you turn me?""If it weren't for Damon I would be with you, but he's here, and It sucks, I know, but we just have to get over it. He's your best friend." He was trying to calm you down, but it wasn't helping at all."I know he's my best friend, and I love him, but he's an ass hole." You said angrily causing Stefan to laugh a little."I can hear you." Damon spoke, but you ignored him."But if he wasn't here, you would do it?" You asked him again. He closed his eyes for a moment trying to decide what was the right thing to say. A few moments later he opened his eyes and nodded softly. "Then let me do this okay." You said, and his eyebrows furrowed in confusion."Do what Liz?" he asked with worry in his voice."Just let me do it." He paused for a moment and then nodded before letting go of your arms. You took a deep breath and walked over to the broken vase. You knelt down in front of it and picked up a large, sharp piece of glass."Liz, what are you doing?" Damon said now extremely worried. You brushed the piece of glass along your arm softly."I'm an adult Damon, and I'm not going to let you tell me what to do with my life." You said looking him straight in the eyes."Stop!" He said panicking. He took a step towards you and you pushed the glass straight into your chest. Damon and Stefan ran to your side. Stefan picked you up in his arms, and the last thing you remember was Damon shaking his head in disappointment and then walking out.The next day Damon basically said go to Hell, so you left.***present***It hurt you so much to leave Stefan. He was definitely the love of your life, but Damon would kill you if you showed up. You've been planning on coming back for a long time, you missed Stefan so much. You missed the way he held your hand, and the way his lips felt on you cheek, but you missed the way he cared about you the most. People don't care about you anymore, and you need to feel like someone needs you. So you packed the small amount of things you owned, and went back, and now here you are in there house. You've been here for a few hours, and you barely got a chance to talk to Stefan. He made you hide in his room until he thought it was safe to come out. You were stuck listening to them argue about you, and you couldn't take it.You finally got up the guts to go down there. You had only heard his voice since you arrived, and you decided that he couldn't be that mad anymore, so you walked into the room with the boys. Stefan and Damon both looked up to you at the same time. You saw a hidden smile on Stefan's serious face, and you struggled to keep from smiling too. When you looked at Damon, you didn't expect to see what you saw. He was furious; he obviously built up his anger towards you over the years. You froze, just starring at him."You know, you should've died that day." He spoke finally."You don't mean that." Stefan said attempting to calm him down."No, I do. Dumb ass, reckless, stupid little girls deserve to die in dumb ass, reckless, stupid ways." His words hurt you so bad. You used to look up to him. He was your best friend, but right now you could only feel the anger that was building up in you head, and you couldn't just stay silent."I'm glad I didn't die. I'm glad Stefan actually cared more about me than himself. You were way to fucking selfish to realize what anybody else wanted. You never cared for anyone but yourself. You were only ever friends with me because you needed someone to push around." You spat. You didn't actually mean it, you were just so angry."You don't know what you're talking about princess. I was friends with you because I felt bad. You were just a lost puppy and you kept showing up at my door step. I felt bad, you obviously had no one else who cared about you." The anger exploded like a volcano and you couldn't take it. You tackled him to the ground, but your strength and speed were no match for his because he was instantly on top of you with a long sharp piece of wood in his hand. "You should've died." He said pushing it into your chest, but just before it got too deep Stefan tackled him off of you. You watched them fight, viciously breaking furniture, and crashing through walls as Damon tried so hard to get to you. You took the chance to run, straight out the door and as far away as possible.About an hour later you were in the middle of the forest resting against a tree when you heard a twig snap behind you, and you froze, but a moment later Stefan was standing in front of you. He sat down next to you and sighed. "He missed you." Stefan spoke and you laughed."Thank you." You changed the subject."He was gonna kill you.""I know, but he didn't, thank you. I thought you would hate me because I left." You looked over at him."I don't think I have the ability to hate you." He said looking into your eyes. "I missed you so much." He said reaching his hand up and brushing a stray piece of hair out of your eye."Do you remember that night?" You asked curiously and he nodded. "Damon's not here anymore." You spoke and his eyes lit up. "So what are you gonna do." You smiled mischievously, and he smiled back hopefully. He leaned down and placed a soft kiss on your lips. The kiss burst with desperation and longing."You have no idea how long I've wanted to do that." He smiled pulling you into his lap, and holding you tight. "I never stopped loving you.
