Breakfast

Time: 7:21am

Today me and Cardi were gonna go out for some breakfast since we both start our new jobs, and she actually texted me yesterday out of no where asking. I was quite excited but scared at the same time, she had been ignoring me and now all of a sudden wanted to go out? I didn't see this as anything, it was just two friends going out for breakfast, cause that's all we'll ever be. I had already showered and had curled my hair, I was not doing my makeup, out work outfit was pretty standard, pencil skirt with button up dress shirt. We'd just be given a tour of the office and assigned our new work stations for today then we could head home. I was excited cause I could use more sleep after this. I finished getting ready and let Cardi know I was on my way, we didn't know any super nice outgoing breakfast places here, the only original thing we could think of was Denny's, so that's where we were gonna eat. I headed out my apartment and got there first, I let her know I asked for a table for 2 and if she said she was with Nicki when they asked they would escorted her to me, I sat there, ordered an orange juice and waited. Not too long after my orange juice had came, so did she. She looked stunning, wherever she worked, everyone was gonna be lucky to have hired her cause she is a beauty. I smiled and flexed my dimples as she sent a warming smile walking up to the table and taking a seat. She ordered an orange juice as well and the waiter let us know they'd be back with it and also to take our order.

"Hey, goodmorning" she said

"Goodmorning" I said smiling

"You excited for that job?" She asked me

"Well we aren't doing much today, just a tour and getting to know everyone basically" I told her

"Aye that's mad tight, you working though or that's it for today?" She said.. and again with that word.

"Nope, once we do the tour and stuff we're heading home" I told her

"That's chill" she said as the waiter came back with her drink and we ordered our food.

"How about you? You never specified where you're working at" I asked her

"Well the job isn't promised, I'm just here to see if they even want me, so ion wanna put no bad energy on it that's why I don't speak about it" she told me

"Are you excited though?" I asked her

"Hell yeah I'm excited, kinda nervous too, I ain't know a single ass in that place" she said letting out a small laugh

"You look really-" I began to say before the sound of my phone going off to a text cut my words

"I'll put it on silent" I said

"Nah shorty you good, night be important" she said as I smiled and looked down.

It was Dwayne Carter, man I forgot about him. I'd texted him that one day and since then it's been choppy conversations, but I still wanted to give the man a try since I had no chance with this girl.

To Dwayne Carter: Thank you 🤗, and I hope those new fashion girls you told me about will be a big help to your company

After that message I closed my phone and decided to pay attention to her.

"Wasn't that important" I told her

"What was you gonna say before" she said

"I was gonna say you look really beautiful" I said as I saw her blush in awe

"You too" she said

"I'm in some basic office wear" I said laughing

"But some office females be looking mad fire and you definitely one of them" she said poking her head a little out our booth and eyeing me up and down from where she was sitting

"Thank you" I said playfully rolling my eyes back and smiling

As we seemed to fall in a daydream we were interrupted by our waiter bringing us our food.

"Thank you, this look delicious" Cardi said

"Thank you" I said giving a soft smile

"This shit look good" she said and I nodded my head

"It does" I said

We both ate in silence since we didn't have really much to talk about. Until a question popped in my head

"How'd you get here?" I asked her

"What you mean" she said

"Uber?" I said

"Ohhh Nah, I stole my neighbor's car, I was walking in the parking lot checking people's doors and his was open so I snatched it" she said which made me stop from my grub and looked up at her, not soon after I looked up she bursted in laugher

"I'm kidding pretty, yeah I ubered here" she said which made me want to nudge her but she was kinda far

"You play too much" I said

"You really think I be doing shit like that?" She asked me

"Well you from the Bronx ain't you?" I said firing back

"Nah now you got it twisted" she said shaking her head and continuing to eat her food

After a few minutes more of eating in silence she spoke

"What that tattoo on ya arm say by the way" she asked me

"Oh this-" I began to say about to point to it but realized my sleeve covers it

"Wait how you see it?" I asked her

"The night we stayed at the hotel silly" she said

"Oh, well it means god is always with you" I told her

"Girl so we was- With a tattoo that says-" she said not finishing her sentences but I knew exactly what she meant and I just giggled

The waiter brought us our check once we were done, we hugged goodbye and had told her I'd be expecting her to text back faster, she nodded and we both went our separate ways before I thought I could've given her a ride to work to spend more time but it was too late, maybe next time.
