Christmas Prompt ~ 2019

Malia sighed as she pushed against the door. Glancing at you she could see you were shivering, even she could feel the sharp bite of the cold. Deciding to give up and figure out a way to survive however long it took for the pack to find them she pushed away from the door.

"I'm sorry." She said quietly as she shuffled over to you. "We're snowed in..."

"It's ok Malia, it isn't your fault." You said through chattering teeth. She smiled for a moment before frowning at you.

"I'll see if I can find any blankets. Or... anything that will keep us warmer." She muttered. The old warehouse seemed a lot more intimidating now. As she searched she wondered what Scott would do. She concluded her train of thought with the decisive realisation that he probably wouldn't have come. He certainly wouldn't have brought a human along with him.

She managed to find some old ragged sheets that must have been used to cover the floor and furniture, tucked away in the abandoned office of the warehouse. They smelled odd but Malia decided they would be better than waiting out the cold. It had started to settle and wrap around everything, the kind of cold that settled into your bones and burned as it left.

"I have these, there isn't anything else. We're supposed to meet the pack in an hour and it shouldn't take Stiles or Lydia long to figure out where we are." She said as she came back.

Malia made you stand up, putting a folded sheet on the floor before you both settled back down, then she wrapped the rest around you both, sitting close to keep the cold away.

"Happy Christmas Malia." You said quietly as you relaxed into her, resting your head on her shoulder as she held your hand tightly. The pit of Malia's stomach churned. You asked if she could wait until the day after Christmas to look at the warehouse. There was nothing here and she'd gotten you both trapped. She felt awful, not noticing that despite the situation, you didn't mind being there with her.
