I can't move. I just keep staring at the message. After two weeks, I actually hear from Brennen, and he wants to talk.
"Vee? You've been in there for a while?" The sound of Finn's voice pulls me out of my thoughts. I had totally forgotten that I was in the bathroom.
I open the door and yank him in here with me. "You okay?" He asked concerned. I take my phone and spin it around, showing Finn the message.
He read the message, confusion coming across his face. "Are you gonna talk to him? You haven't heard from him in two weeks." He reminded me.
"I don't know if I should." I could feel my heart beat rise as Finn thinks of something. "Call him." He suggested as I typed his number out on my phone.
"Are you two lost in the bathroom?" Jack asked from the door. Finn opens the door and pulls him in here. Finn put his finger over his mouth telling him to hush.
I put the call on speaker as it starts to ring. After the fourth ring, it showed he answered the call. Finn and I looked at each other as there was silence.
"Hey, are you alone?" Brennen asked. It was weird hearing his voice after two weeks. "Yeah, what's up?" I lie.
I look over at Jack to see him confused but he stayed quiet. "Look, I know I haven't talked to you, but I miss you. I miss you a lot." He started out.
I could tell he was serious. "It's my fault, I should've tried harder. But I was wondering if you wanted to hang out tomorrow, after you get off, to make up for it." He asked making me look up at the boys.
Finn just shrugged as Jack was looking at himself in the mirror. "What time?" I ask. I just wanna know why he hasn't talked to me.
"I'll come to your house around seven thirty, if that's okay?" I feel like I shouldn't be doing this, but I have a gut feeling that's telling me I should.
"I'll see you then." We say our goodbyes as I hang up. "I'm confused, what just happened?" Jack asked as I sighed.
I forgot that Jack hasn't met any of these people so he's lost. "That was Brennen. He was there when we saw Colby cheating on her at the party." I wince at both the name and the memory.
"And why are you meeting him?" Jack asked as I shrug. "I just had a feeling that I should." I look up at him to see him trying to figure everything out.
We just shrug it off as we hang out for the rest of the night. The next day at work went by faster than I thought cause before I knew it I was picking out what to wear tonight.
I decided to go with a simple hoodie and black skinny jeans. I heard a few knocks on my door so I go and answer. I can't believe I'm about to see Brennen for the first time.
I take a deep breath before opening it so I could be prepared. When I opened it, I saw Brennen standing there. He weakly smiled as he waved.
After seeing him, I realized how much I've missed him. "Come here dork." I smile as I open my arms up for a hug.
I've honestly missed Brennen a lot. It's not like he's the one who cheated. "How're you feeling? And don't pull the 'I'm fine' bullshit." He said when he walked in.
"I could be better. It was hard at first but I'm slowly getting better." I honestly tell him. That's when I got an idea to ask him a question.
"How is he?" I didn't even have to say his name for Brennen to know who I'm talking about. "He's bad. I've never seen him this bad before." It felt like my heart sank.
"He wasn't even this bad with the break up with him and Gemma. I think it was because he had you." It doesn't help that he cheated on me, with her.
"He still cheated Bren." He then looked at me like he was confused and shocked at the same time. "He didn't tell you?" He asked.
That's when I got confused cause I have no idea what he's talking about. "Tell me what?" I ask as he shook his head.
"I'll let him tell you, if you talk again. Now we have to go get food so I can make up for not being here for you." He walked towards the door, leaving me speechless and in my thoughts.
First Sam and now Brennen. What is there that needs to be said that they can't tell me? "You coming, Vee?" He asked as I nod my head yes.
I follow him out the door and walk down the hallway. "So, what've you been up to lately?" He asked making conversion.
"Working and hanging out with Finn and Jack, his roommate." I push the down button on the elevator as we wait for it.
I look up at him to see him looking down at me already. "Finn's a good friend for you." The elevator doors opened causing us to walk in.
"Yeah, he's super sweet." I look down as I started thinking. "Where are we going?" I ask curious. "Bowling, I hope you don't mind." I haven't been bowling in forever.
He ended up driving to the bowling alley and it actually wasn't too crowded. "So, what are you doing for halloween since it's a couple weeks away?" Brennen asked grabbing an orange ball.
I grabbed a black one since it's my favorite color. "Finn, Jack, and I are all dressing up together. We haven't chosen yet." I tell him as I put my bowling shoes on.
"What about you, what are you doing?" I ask as he shrugs. "I honestly haven't figured it out yet." He tells me.
We actually had a good time bowling. We just caught each other up on our lives and talked about a bunch of different things.
I just can't stop thinking about what he meant about someone not telling me something.
