I woke up to someone jumping on my bed. I jolt up to see Colby smiling at me. "What are you doing?" I ask rubbing my eyes.

I was off work so there was no need to wake me up early. "Happy birthday." It was my birthday. I was actually twenty one.

I couldn't help but smile but feel sad at the same time. Brandon and I always planned to go to a bar when I had turned twenty one.

But I don't wanna be sad so I looked at Colby in his eyes. "You get dressed, I wanna take you on a birthday breakfast date." He said standing up.

I groan at the fact of getting up. "Do I have to?" I groan as he nods his head yes. "But it's my birthday." He shook his head as he rolled his eyes.

"I wanna spend time with you before I spend time with Sam." I roll my eyes, forgetting I shared a birthday with Sam.

"Alright fine, go into the living room." I say as he looks at me weird. "I've seen you with no clothes on though." He joked causing me to get a pillow and throw it at him.

He ran out laughing as I took a deep breath. He can be a twelve year old sometimes. I put on a hoodie and black skinny jeans.

I brush my hair as I walk back into the living room. He was sitting on my couch, scrolling through his phone.

"You ready, baby?" I ask as he smiled at me. As we ate he told me how he was gonna spend most of the day with Sam and then hang out with me during the night.

I didn't mind though. When he was gonna be with Sam, I was gonna meet up with Jack and Finn. We were gonna go surfing.

I haven't surfed in years. Breakfast with Colby was actually pretty nice. When he dropped me off, I went to my apartment to change into my bikini.

I had just put my over shirt on when I heard two boys walk in. "Where's my favorite American?" Finn asked when I walked out of my room.

"Hey boys." I smile towards them. I give them a hug as they walk in. "So, how's it feel to be twenty one?" Jack asked after I hugged him.

"I mean, I can drink legally now so that's great." I half joke as they laugh. "Okay, but for real. Let's go surfing." Finn said clapping his hands.

I jog into my room, grab my board, and go back into the living room. We walk out and head towards Jacks truck. It was really a nice day.

I put my board in the bed of Jack's truck and get into the back. We pull out as Jack rolls down the windows.

I had my sunglasses on as I looked out the window. We listened to Five Seconds Of Summer the whole way to Malibu beach.

The waves were really good to surf on when we got there. We picked a good spot to lay our stuff down and start to take our clothes off.

We were quickly in our bathing suits as we looked at each other. "Let's go already." The water was cold when we got in but I didn't care.

Once we got deep enough, I hopped on the board and started paddling out farther. When I'm far enough out, I sit on the board, waiting for a wave.

I forgot how much I missed being out here. As we watched, we saw a wave form so I laid down and started paddling.

"You didn't call it!" Jack yelled as I kept paddling. "I don't see you trying!" I joke with him. Once I reach the wave, I stand up and ride it.

Everyone cheered, causing me to smile. Surfing was actually really fun with the two boys. We were out in the ocean for a couple of hours.

To the point where I was sunburnt. When I got home, I plopped onto the couch. As I laid there, I got a message on my phone.

I look at it to see Colby had texted me. He told me to come to an address because there was an emergency.

I don't recognize the address. I quickly get up and get my keys. I go to my car while pulling the address up on my phone.

It wasn't actually too far away. I get into my car and start to drive to the address. I wonder what the emergency could be.

When I got to the house, I didn't see Colby's car which confused me. I turn my car off and get out. "Vee?" I heard Sam ask behind me.

That's when I got even more confused. "What're you doing here?" I ask smiling a little bit. "Colby told me there was an emergency." I could tell there was confusion on his face.

"Well, let's go inside and see what's the matter." Sam said as I agree. We started walking to the house, him leading.

"Hey, happy birthday by the way." I tell him as he opens the door. I could see a little smile form on his face.

"Thanks, you too." Now it was my turn to smile. We walk in and the house was dark. And it was silent, a little too silent.

"Let's go check out the kitchen." He whispered as we walked side by side. The next thing I know, everyone in the friend group was yelling surprise.

I was completely shocked. That's when I saw both Kat and Colby with cakes.

Everyone started singing happy birthday as Kat walked towards Sam and Colby walked towards me.

As Colby walked to me, we held eye contact the whole entire time. And I couldn't stop smiling. "Happy birthday to Vee and Sam." I heard them sing as Colby reached me.

We were smiling so big as I had tears form in my eyes. They finished singing as he looked at me. "Happy birthday baby." I blow my candles out as everyone cheered.

"I'm making shots!" I heard Brennen yell from the back. After cutting our cake and eating some, I walked over to a highly intoxicated Brennen.

"What's up, Venus? You want a shot?" He asked already pouring it. "Yeah, sure." He hands it over to me as I take it.

"You're of age to go to a bar now. We can finally go out and drink." He said doing another shot. "Only if I'm invited." Colby said walking over to us.

He came over to us and slung his arm over my shoulder. "Of course, it wouldn't be a party without you." Brennen slurred.

I then looked over and saw Jack and Finn walking over, being completely shocked. "I didn't know you two would be here." I smile as they reached us.

"Colby invited us earlier and we couldn't say no." Finn informed me. I look over at Colby and he was smirking at me.

He was the sweetest. "You're the best." I wrap my arms around Colby with a big smile on my face.

As the boys started talking, I looked over at Kat and Tara to see them dancing to the music with their boyfriends.

I then looked over at the boys as they laughed at a joke. Everyone's actually getting along. As I stood there with my bestfriends, I realized something.

I realized that everything is gonna be okay for once.
