I wasn't myself today and I think the boys at work noticed. I sat at the table outside the booth so I could work on some music.

It's been helping me keep the conversation out of my head. My music always helped me clear my mind.

As I worked on my music, I saw someone come sit next to me out of my peripheral vision. I look over to see it was Finn.

I sigh as I pause my music and take my headphones off. I look over at him to see him looking over at me. "Hey, Vee." He simply said as I looked at him weirdly.

"Hey Finn." I said back as he started tapping his fingers on the table. "How're you feeling?" He asked me. I could tell he wanted to know if I was okay.

That was a question I wanted to know myself. How am I really feeling? Am I still heartbroken from Colby? Am I still sad? Am I actually free of a relationship?

Or am I have I numbed everything down? I sigh as I look at him. Finn is probably the closest thing I have right now.

"I don't know. I think I've just numbed everything down." I tell him as he nods his head. I look behind him to the booth to see what the other two were doing.

Looks like they're doing the Luke and Leonard show so they're busy. I haven't told Finn about what happened in the hallway, but I think I should.

"If I tell you something, you can't freak out." I turn my body to him so I could talk to him better. "What is it?" He straightened out as he got serious.

"When I went home yesterday, as I was walking to my apartment, I heard Sam and Colby talking." He looks at me like he's trying to think of everything.

"What were they talking about?" He asked crossing his arms. I take a deep breath as I look up at him. Even when sitting, Finn is so much taller than me.

"Colby started talking about how he fucked up and wanted me back." I start to explain as he listens.

"And Sam told him that it'll be okay and I'm hurting too and how I don't what happened." When I said that, his face crumpled up like he was confused.

"You don't know, the hell is that supposed to mean?" He asked as I shrugged. I wish I knew. He shook his head as he leaned back in his chair.

He looked at me with his chocolate brown eyes. I never realized how attractive he was. His full lips, his jawline, the way he styles his hair, his muscles.

Another good thing about him is his height. But other than his looks, he has a great personality. Like he protects everyone he cares for.

He literally punched Colby in the face cause he cheated on me. That was the night I noticed that whenever he gets mad, a vein pops out of his forehead and he clenches his jaw.

He's a really great person, inside and out. I hope he finds someone good. He deserves someone good in his life.

"Come over to my apartment after work and I'll cheer you up." He spoke up bringing me out of my thoughts.

"You sure?" I ask he nods his head. "Yeah, I have a plan in mind." I don't know if I should be scared or not.

The rest of work, I finished my song, but I had to stay a little late to catch up on some stuff. When I packed my stuff up, I texted Finn and told him I was about to come over.

As I drove over there, I couldn't help but think about what the surprise was. Hopefully it was a good surprise.

I was starting memorize the way to Finn's so that was a plus. When I got to his apartment, he told me the door was unlocked so I could walk right in.

I took a deep breath before walking in. I couldn't help but laugh when I walked in there.

Jack and Finn were standing in the living room dressed like two of the Ninja Turtles.

"Why are you dressed like that?" I ask laughing at them. "We're the Ninja Turtles." Jack said in a duh tone.

Their accents made it funnier. "Is this the surprise?" I ask Finn as he nods his head yes.

"So, if you're really the Ninja Turtles then what'd you do today?" I ask moving myself to the couch.

Finn started making up stuff as I listened. "I had some tadpoles for lunch." He said making Jack turn to him.

"You ate your babies?" Jack asked confusing me. "What?" I raise my eyebrows over at him as he turns to me.

"Tadpoles are baby turtles." I started laughing at how serious Jack sounded when he said that.

"No they're not, are you serious?" Finn asked him as Jack got embarrassed. I started laughing along with the other two about what just happened.

"Damnit they're mosquitoes, aren't they?" Jack tried to cover himself up so he wouldn't look as dumb. "What?" I ask laughing at him.

Finn couldn't contain his laughter causing him to snort out with laughter. We were a hot mess. That's when Jack started crawling on the floor.

"The fuck are you doing?" I ask him. "He's on the hunt for food." Finn told me as Jack rolled over onto his back.

He then rolled over on his back and acted like he got stuck on his shell. When he stood up, his shell fell off. "Ew! Your shell came off! It's gross under there." Finn started gagging as jack laughed.

"While y'all are still tripping on whatever drug you're doing, I'm gonna use the bathroom." I stand up and walk down the familiar hallway.

As I walked into the bathroom, a ding came form my phone signaling I had a text. I wonder who could've texted me.

I pull my phone out of my pocket to see who it was, and then being completely shocked. I had a text from Brennen, which I wasn't expecting. I kept reading it over and over as I stood there.

'Vee, can we talk?'
