"When did you write all of that?" I ask Colby. We were sitting at the meadow we went to a while back ago.
We came here after the poetry slam so we could get some alone time. "When you were back in Hawaii. It's one of the reasons why I couldn't sleep." He explained.
I blushed as I looked down. "That was super sweet, Colby. I wasn't expecting it." I honestly tell him. I just couldn't believe he felt that way.
And he remembered all of that stuff. "I just wanna show you that I still care about you, I always have." I could tell he was serious.
"How did you come up with all of it?" I ask curious of everything. He just shrugged as he looked at me. "They're just the words I didn't say." I could feel my heart melt when he said that.
He looked down at his phone as we heard the birds start singing again. I looked at him with a smile on my face.
This is such a beautiful moment and I'm so happy that I can be here with Colby. Colby had this look on his face that he wanted to kiss me.
I couldn't hold it back anymore. I grabbed his face and locked our lips together. I've missed the warm sensation of his lips on mine.
It always made me feel warm on the inside. After a minute, we had to pull away so we could catch our breaths.
We had our heads resting against each other as we smiled a little bit. That's when we noticed it was getting late.
"You know, you should come to pizza night." He suggested as I smirk. I wanted to see everyone again. "I really should." We both stand up as I take the scenery in.
I'll forever love this place. We drove to the apartment complex and honestly, I was nervous to see everyone again.
I mean, yeah I've seen them but it's been awhile since I've been to a pizza night. Before we walked in, I guess that Colby could notice that I was nervous because he laced our fingers together.
We walked in and everyone looked over at us. When they all noticed me, they started cheering. "Vee! Come hang out with us." Kat said from the couch.
I look over at Colby as he looks down at me. "Go, I'll get you a slice." I kiss his cheek as I walk away from him. I sit on the couch next to the girls, waiting for their questions.
"So, we heard about the poem Colby wrote for you. How was it?" Tara asked as I smiled, thinking about it.
I explained everything he said in the poem, getting butterflies when I thought about it. I just can't believe he did that for me.
Sometimes I don't think I deserve him, but he makes me super happy. That month, we were apart, I felt awful. And I know he felt awful about it too.
Honestly, I think Colby was in worse shape than I was after it happened. "I'm glad that you two worked everything out. You're literally my favorites." Kat told me.
I blushed when she was talking about it. I looked over and saw Colby walk over to us with two plates in his hand.
"Here you go, Venus." I roll my eyes as he calls me by my full name. "Thanks, Cole." I say aggravating him. And it was his turn to roll his eyes.
"Shut up." He told me as I took the plate from his hands. "Thanks though." He smiled at me as he walked back towards his friends.
"You know, I think you two were meant to meet." Kat told me, making me surprised. "What do you mean?" I ask.
Her and Tara looked at each other and then looked at me. "You two were definitely meant to meet. I mean, you two broke up after dating and something brought you back." Tara explained.
Maybe she was right. What if we were meant to meet, so we could help fix each other? Cause I know he helped me with my shit, and I helped with his.
I really don't know what I'd do without him. Well, there was that month and it was complete hell.
I'm just glad that we worked everything out. "Since we're all friends again, we need to have another girls day." Kat said as we all agreed.
That was when turned on a movie so everyone came into the living room. Colby comes over to me and sits next to me, casually wrapping his arm around me.
I cuddled up next to him as the movie started. Jake was cuddled up with Tara, I was cuddled up with Colby, Sam and Kat were cuddled, and then there was Mike.
We need to get him a girlfriend. For some reason, Sam chose a scary movie so literally the whole time, I was hiding behind Colby.
"You know, you're really cute when you're scared." Colby teased when we walked to my apartment. I lightly push him as I laugh.
"Shut up, dork." I joke as we get to my apartment. I turned so I could see him better. "So, your birthday is in a few days." I was shocked.
How could I have forgotten about my own birthday? I looked at Colby to see him laughing at me. "Did you forget your own birthday?" He asked laughing.
"Maybe." I quietly tell him as I look down. "Well, I might've already gotten you something for it. And I got plans that involve you." I looked back up at him.
I had to make sure if he was serious or not. And he was. "What plans?" I ask confused. He just shrugged like he didn't know.
But I knew he knew. "I don't know." He had a plan, he just didn't want to tell me. "Well, I'll see you tomorrow after work. Bye Colby." I say unlocking my door.
It's been a long ass day. I'm wore out honestly. "Okay, see you tomorrow Vee." He had a hopeful look on his face before I walked in.
I'm not letting Colby out of my arms reach this time.
