"Put your body weight into it. Slash like you mean it!" Danny criticize as I take another slice at a dummy. A fake one, not Bo. Or Cal. Or my so called brother. I can feel Danny's eyes locked onto my movement as I slice again. She's a great teacher. She knows what to work with and how to make you understand what you're doing. However, it doesn't make her any less terrifying. And this terrifying girl is my friend.

"C'mon Julian!" Danny encourages. "You got this, now go to slice his head off."

With a fling of my arm I do it. His head falls to the floor, making a loud thump. I gasp and stare into the lifeless eyes and I can almost picture them to be my father's. Hate grows inside of me quickly and before I can stop myself, I kick the head.

"Whoa girl." Danny says. She walks up next to me. Ellen, her broad sword is attacked to her pants. For every victim she kills with the sword, she makes a dash into the golden handle. In the five year spand of her owning Ellen, Ellen has received 220 slashes and still counting.

Cat emerges on the other side of me. I haven't seen her alot since the attack in the corn maze, because she's been taking care of Bo. I've seen even less of Fabian, who spends the hours locked in his room. I wish he'd come out more. I want to see him again.......

Ever since I had arrived here, I have felt something towards Fabian. I know now that I like him more than a friend, but I'm terrified to tell him. He's strong and loud, but also sweet and quirky. His personality is so unique to anything I have ever met before. Fabian is unique.

"Julian?" I snap out of my thoughts and look at Cat, who seems to have been calling my name for sometime now.

        "What?"

Cat laughs her half demonic half lighthearted laugh. "I said, you're really good with the knives; a natural."

"Oh," I reply, blushing because of what I was thinking and because I never take well to compliments. "thank's, Cat."

"Don't mention it-" She's cut off by a huge bang in the corner. All three of us whip around. There's a huge hole in the wall. Danny's runs over before us to examine it.

"I didn't hear anyone make this, and it wasn't here before!" Danny cries, clearly frustrated. "It's shit!"

"That's not nice...." Cat shoots back, but even she has a clear look of confusion of her face.

There's a piece of paper, yellowed by age in the back of the hole. I reach my small arm inside and pulls it out. I slowly unravel it, afraid it might fall apart in my hands. Danny looks over my shoulder, while Cat sneezes uncontrollably because of the dust.

"On the night of the sun,

one shall perish to the hands of the enemy.

You have been warned, Chosen One, leave before it is too late."

                 - Gloria Zanderson, keeper of the prophecies and message receiver to the gods above.

My heart jumps straight into my throat. Zanderson, the word burns into my mind. My great, great, great grandmother. My breathing grows quick as I ravel up the paper even faster.

"Julian?" Cat questions. "What is this? You know what it is, don't you? I can feel it."

"I need to talk to Fabian," is all I can manage. I can barely see straight. Just when i think my like is behind me, it comes back to bite me in the ass. My new family is in danger. I need to take action. I run up the steps to the second floor. Fabian knows I'm an angel. He'll know what to do.

I stop short at the doorknob to his room. There's a lock on it; a dial.

"No way." I breathe. I close my eyes, trying to think of the combo that stupid annoying conscience gave me.

Thanks. You're a real charmer yourself.

        I almost laugh outloud. Almost.

Please tell me the code! PLEASE! I think, doing the begging motion with my hands.

675-908-257. You're welcome, by the way.

Shut up. I smile. I really want to know who this voice is.

I put the code in and it works. The voice was right: I did need it. Maybe I should listen to it mroe often.

        Hallelujah and pass the toast.

        "What?" I say outloud.

Nothing, Go talk to your boyfriend.

"He's not my boyfriend." I whisper, blood rushing to my cheeks.

        You wish he was.

        I push open the door.
