The Light Inside the Darkness

Chapter Seven

The fun lasted until the sun began setting which means it was a successful since most things like this do not normally last this long because most people typically leave once it starts to become boring and no longer interesting. So typically everyone tends to leave before it even gets close to becoming dark outside due to travel time and the annoying social point to every social gathering that is all about proving one's rank or trying to use other people to climb up the ranks for more power or a better life, which is why I hate those kinds of things more than anything else. And I was hoping that it would last a while but I never expected it to have lasted this long so I am quite happy that it has lasted this long so I can consider today a big success. And I got to see a real smile from Daniel and he even laughed today which is all things that never even in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine would happen.

I'm currently standing by the edge of the garden staring at the ocean thinking to myself as the wind is beginning to pick up. Suddenly I began to feel a presence beside me and just as they said something and his voice sent a shiver down my spine when he spoke. "Miss V I do believe that everyone is preparing to leave now." I smirked "Well I would assume so since it is starting to get dark. But I do think today is quite a success." I looked at him in the corner of my eye "Oh and why do you think that?" he said confused just like I knew he would. "Well everyone enjoyed themselves including you. I do believe today is the first time I have ever truly seen you smile genuinely. That and you even laughed which is something I thought might have been impossible if I hadn't seen it for myself just as I saw it happen today. Plus I don't know of anyone's get-togethers ever lasting this long." He looked shocked "What are you talking about I've smiled plenty of times around you." I chuckled "Oh please we both know those were all fake smiles as well as everything else." He looked shocked once again but then he started chuckling which then turned into genuine laughter "I knew you were an interesting person but never did I imagine that you would ever be this interesting, little girl. But you know I wasn't the only faking it, you know." I smirked "Oh is that so, Sir Daniel. I don't believe I understand what you mean."

"Oh but I believe that you know exactly what I am talking about because out of everyone and everything that has happened today I have only seen one real smile crossed your rose covered lips but that smile wasn't a happy one. So I wonder what you were you thinking about that would upset you but make you happy all at the same time?" I giggled "Hmmm I wonder. Indeed that is quite a theory you have there, Sir Daniel Silvermist. Now you should know very well by now I have no interest in letting any of my secrets go let alone who I may be in this life. Besides, I think it would be for the best if you put your focus onto someone else. Perhaps Miss Livitha Starlth even she does seem to be quite a nice person and she seems to be infatuated by you and your good looks as well as your cunning charm." 

"Oh so you think I'm good looking and am charming," he said smirking. I rolled my eyes "I've seen better, Sir Silvermist. But whatever helps you sleep better at night," I lied for I have never seen anyone even close to his looks alone let alone felt so drawn to someone like I am when it comes to him. "But don't worry I believe there are plenty of other girls like Livitha Starlth that think that there is no one on this earth that is better than you, so this should make you feel better at least." He smiled "But you are far more interesting than those other girls." I felt my heartbeat quicken when he said that and sighed "You are only interested in me because you are not aware of my true identity is and if it could be of any use to you. But because you do not know who I am you do not know if I have power based on who's family name I carry or if I am a simple commoner who has friends in high social standing. So let me give you a hint you should just go for Livitha because she is someone who truly cares for you and has a high social standing and with your help she may even climb higher up the ladder which means it would only help you more in the future. But my family, on the other hand, will only drag you down a path that is not good for you to well being."
