Chapter Thirty Seven
"What was that about?" Julie asked when Junior got off the phone, "It kind of sounded important."
"That was Martin... he was very vague with details, but he said Brynne left and he has no clue where she is."
"Fuck," Julie screeched, "We have to find her!"
"Babe, I know. That's why he called, he needs our help."
"She's my best friend; let me go find her and you head over to Martin's and find out what the hell is going on."
"Sounds like a plan. Babe, I got my phone you let me know when you find her."
"And once you find out from Martin what happened, call me. Once I find out what happened I may be able to find Brynne easier."
"Deal." He pulled her to him. "I'm sorry we got interrupted."
She stood on her tiptoes and kissed him. "We'll have plenty of time to pick up where we left off, just as soon as I find Brynne and make sure she's okay."

Junior walked up to Martin's coach and walked in, finding his friend pacing back and forth in the kitchen. He looked like hell run over twice. "Good," he sighed, "We can go now!"
"Where are we going?"
"Is that a trick question?" Martin asked, "Going to find Brynne of course!"
"Julie is looking for Brynne and right now she doesn't think she needs any help. So you and I are going to stay right here and have a little talk and you can tell me exactly what the hell happened, what's going on and how the hell you fucked this one up!"
"Brynne is out there -"
"Martin, if Julie needs help she will call. Right now you need to talk to me so maybe I can help you out of the mess you have gotten yourself into this time."
"I don't even know where to start Junior. Things are so fucked up right now!"
"How about at the beginning?"
"Funny - that's the same thing Brynne said." Martin sighed. "Fuck... how did shit get so fucked up?"
"I don't know - you tell me. Where did it all start?"
"Kaleen's fucking pregnant - that's where it all started. And she's certifiably insane to put it lightly."
"Fuck," Dale swore.
"Yeah, you're telling me."
"Do you even know if the baby is yours?"
"I don't - I plan on having a paternity test done as soon as she has the baby, but until then she's telling me that it's mine."
"So Kaleen's pregnant and off her rocker... how did that get us here to today?"
Martin sighed and began to tell his friend the story, leaving nothing out. He knew that if he left something out, it might hinder Julie and Junior from helping him get Brynne back.

Julie walked through the motorcoach lot as quickly as she could without raising any suspicions. Word would eventually get around the track of what was going on, but she hoped to have found Brynne by then.
She weaved in and out of the coaches in the lot, knowing that if she were a girl - which mind you, she was - that had just found out something she didn't want to hear, she wouldn't have gone very far from the motorcoach; she wouldn't have been able to will her body to move her any further.
Julie would know, she'd been there before. She'd fallen head over heels only to have her world come crashing in around her. It sucked, but it was a part of life. Not everything that seemed perfect was.
Long about five coaches down from Martin's sat Jeff Gordon's; slightly larger in size as compared to all the other coaches surrounding his, but still almost identical to every other motorcoach in the lot. The main difference happened to be the huddled form leaning against the back bumper.
"Brynne!" Julie screeched, running to her best friend's side immediately, "What the hell is going on?"
The utter look of grief that had replaced the normally vibrant emotions in Brynne's eyes had Julie's blood boiling. "Brynne? Tell me what's going on... I need to know how I can help you."
"Julie?" Brynne whispered, "I just want to go home."
***
"Fuck MT, how the hell did you get yourself all caught up in this... and why didn't you tell anyone 'bout it? Hell, I ain't even talkin' 'bout myself... why the hell didn't you tell Brynne of all people?"
Martin sighed, "I don't fucking know. I was scared of her reaction; I don't even know if this damn baby is mine Junior! And I saw how great she handled the news about Deana and Peyton - I should have just told her then, but I didn't because I was scared."
"Scared of what exactly?"
"Honestly? Of losing her. Who would have thought essentially that by not telling her, I was doing exactly that, though?"
His ringing phone saved Junior from having to answer back to that. "Tell me you found her."
"I found her," Julie sighed. She could hear Martin telling Junior to ask if Brynne was alright. "And you can tell Martin that I don't exactly feel inclined to tell him anything at the moment."
"I take it she's not ready to run back here with open arms, then?"
"To be honest, I don't know if she'll ever be ready for that. She's pretty torn up. In fact, she told me she just wants to go home. Tell me - what happened? She won't say anything except that she wants to go home."
"It's - it's a long story babe, one that I will explain to you later."
"There's not going to be a later for Brynne. Could you gather her things up and meet us at the airport? I'm going to get her the next flight back to Boston."
"Alright I'll meet you there."
Martin was on him as soon as the phone was hung up. "What's going on? Where are you going?"
"To the airport."
"The airport - why?"
Junior smiled at him sympathetically, "Because Julie is getting Brynne on the first flight back to Boston - she just wants to go home, man."

So, sorry it has taken so long, but I've never had internet at home and always relied on posting at my parents when we were there for Sunday dinners. Then they were having internet issues and hunting season rolled around, so it was hard to post. But surprise, I have internet now!!!
This one was short, but leave me some comments and likes and I'll post another one tonight or tomorrow for you!
