I just sat there, gaping in shock. As if I wasn't scared enough of admitting my true feelings to Niall in private, now I had to do it in public, in front of millions of people - on tv. It was like a weight had fallen out of the sky and landed on my shoulders, seeped through my body and into my chest.

I was in not in a state to speak, and yet I managed to get one word out.

"No,"

"Pardon me?" the woman, Louise asked me to repeat.

"Sorry, but I- no," I regained my composure and spoke in a more confident tone.

"No?" she asked.

"Yes, no."

"Wait, yes or no?"

"No, I don't wanna be on your show," I sighed.

"Sweetheart, it's too late. You should've been sure about your decision when you sent the video in from the beginning. We've already booked your flight to London in two weeks time."

"But I never thought you'd actually see the damn video!"

"Look - Rachel, right ?"

"Yeah," I confirmed.

"Rachel, I've seen the video myself and I've seen the pictures that you attached to the e-mail. You and your best friend would look great together and I'm gonna help you impress him; don't pass this opportunity up."

Her offer was tempting, but I was still uncertain. What if the whole idea creeped Niall out? What if he didn't wanna be my friend anymore because things got awkward between us? A million thoughts were roaming around my brain at that moment, but I knew there was nothing I could do about it. I sent the video in myself, which meant that I had to deal with all the possible consequences.

"I don't know about this," I sighed.

"I do. You seem like a gorgeous young lady that any guy would fall head over heels for."

"Yeah, I don't know about that," I argued.

"So you're telling me that- what's his name again?"

"Who?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Your best friend."

"Oh, Niall," I reminded her.

"Yes, so you're telling me that Niall's friends with you because you're ugly and dull?"

Okay, maybe she had a point. I mean, if I were ugly and boring, why would Niall be friends with me? Then again, why was Niall even friends with me?

"I'm flying to Ireland by the end of this week and that's settled," Her tone suddenly changed into a persistent one and she was leaving me with no choice but to agree with her.

"Fine," I breathed out.

"Great, see you in a few days," she hung up.

I groaned loudly as I threw my cheap cell phone on the chair across from the sofa. I grabbed a pillow, pressed it to my face and started screaming in frustration.

Maybe this was all a nightmare and five minutes later I'd wake up, look back at this and laugh.

Nope, still here.

I dropped the pillow and grabbed my earphones, plugging them into my phone and blocking the world out by listening to some music.

I thought I heard something so I clicked pause, waiting for the sound to repeat itself.
