'Yes, I owe Seo Hwi that much. That is all I wish! Nothing more or nothing less' Sun Ho looked straight into the eyes of the old lady.
'But what about you? What do you want? There must be something you want?' smiled the old lady behind him as she whispered the words.
Sun Ho touched his chest, 'You know what I want but to ask is too much. So, what I want does not matter.'
'Say it, maybe I can make it come true,' laughed the old lady.
Sun Ho whipped his head to look at the old lady who was smiling cheek to cheek. 'Can you?'
'I don't know, I am a bit angry at you for trying to fool me.' The old lady sat with her elbows on the table and chin on her palms as she looked at him like a little girl. Sun Ho remained silent watching the woman, he had a feeling something is up now that he started thinking since the moment he had died from the Grim Reaper to the Ferry Man and now this old lady. It was like they were trying to help him.
'Hahaha you are a smart one aren't you, I see why they all have been dropping hints for you,' said the old lady as she pushed a little cup towards him. The tea was filled to the brim yet not a drop was spilled as if a force was holding the ingredients within the cup.
Sun Ho stared at the being in front of him, who clearly wasn't someone whom he should mess with but he wasn't a man to back off once a decisinon has been made.
'Will you help me?' begged Sun Ho. He gripped the table tightly.
'Should I?' grinned the old lady at him. She twisted the jade ring on her hand while deep in thought. Sun Ho's heart raced as he watched the old lady decide his fate.
'Take a sip of the tea then cover the cup with the saucer and turn it upside down,' muttered the old lady while still deep in thought. Sun Ho quickly followed her instructions.
'I have seen your heart, you might not be able to voice it out yet but I am a sucker for these kind of things. You, humans are disappointing at times. Firstly, promise me something then I will let you go with your memories!'
Sun Ho looked at the tea that was now spilling endlessly on to the saucer, there was more tea than the cup could hold. He knew what the old lady was going ask from him. He couldn't do it in this lifetime and she expects him to do it in next life.
'I can see the Three Sisters have decided you two will once again be reborn together but he will have no memories of you and you will regain them at the eve of your eighteenth birthday only if the feelings you have appear once again in this new life.' the old lady pushed his cup and saucer off the table and burning them in bright flames sealing him in a promise he hadn't even agreed to instantly.
'But?'
'No buts...why waste a life protecting someone who has absolutely no memory of you? I give you a reason now. This way the Sisters of Fate won't be too angry.' grinned the old lady as if she had gotten away doing something mischievous.
Sun Ho stood up and bowed his head thanking the old lady. The old lady stood up and approached him, her back was now hunched with a face of naïve old lady yet her eyes were filled with wisdom with a hint of mischief. Sun Ho had failed to notice this before but this wasn't an ordinary old woman as expected of the Keeper of Memories.
'I really wish you luck, young man. May the fates that have already been woven be in your favor. See you next time, child,' said the old lady as she guided him through a door.
Into light Sun Ho walked...
