November 12: Colby
I sit on the couch opposite of Leighla.
"Babe, you haven't spoken to me in four days. Is something wrong?"
"Yeah, actually. Something is wrong. Something is very wrong. I saw a certain text you sent to Paige the other day and I wanted to know why it was sent? Is that your true feelings?"
"And this is why I can never speak to you face to face, Colby! You always gets upset!"
"All I'm doing is asking!" I yell frustratedly. I stand up and begin pacing.
"Yes, I want to break up with you. I want this relationship to be over. I want you to take this ring back and find a girl who would actually want to marry you." I face Leighla and hold out my hand. She takes off the ring and places it in my hand. I curl my hand around the ring and my arm falls to my side. Leighla stands up and looks me in the eyes. "I'm gonna go pack and then I'm out."
"Alright." She turns on her heel and walks downstairs. I pull out my phone and notice I had two text messages.
Hey, just read the message from Leigh. You alright? If you want, you can come over and we can have ice cream and hot chocolate? ~ Paige
Are you with Paige right now? I need to apologize for calling her a bitch. ~ Jon.
I sigh and shut my phone off. I sit on the barstool while waiting for Leighla to leave.
The clicking of heels awakens me and I look to the door. Leighla was just opening it. She looks at me but walks out, slamming the door behind her. I resist the urge to run to her, to beg her to stay. She didn't want me. So why should I waste my time? I look back to Paige's message and decide to take up her offer.
I'll be there in a few. The hot chocolate and ice-cream better be ready. ~ Colby.
Don't worry. It's been sitting here for 10 minutes. ~ Paige.
I smile and walk towards the front door. Leighla was just walking up the steps.
"Here's the keys and everything I don't need." She drops them in front of me and walks back down the stairs. I bend over to pick them up and I quickly lock the door. I place my hat on my head and unlock my car doors. I hop in and drive to Paige's.
••••••••••••••••••••••
I barge into Paige's house, kicking off my shoes and slamming the door closed. I jog downstairs to where Paige was sitting on the sofa, cuddled into a fuzzy blanket. I noticed the heat was lowered and it was pretty nippy.
"Your hot chocolate is right there. Ice-cream is in the freezer. Didn't know what kind you wanted so I just didn't grab you one."
"You're so thoughtful."
"I try." I smirk and roll my eyes as I jog back upstairs and grab a bucket of fudge brownie ice cream.
I go back downstairs and sit beside Paige.
"Do you want a blanket?"
"Nope, I'll just have you as warmth." She laughs and I pull her onto my lap. She makes the blanket bigger so it would cover both of us. She places her head on my chest as I lay down and she turns on the movie; Hunger Games.
I stroke her hair and she looks up at me and smiles. I pull her closer to me and I look at her lips, biting mine. She smiles and kisses me. I kiss her back and soon we've forgotten all about the movie.
Her lips were warm and soft, unlike Leighla's; wet and cold.
I run my hands up her shirt and she runs her pale hands through my hair. I lick her lips for entrance and she accepts.
I run my hands back down and take a handful of her arse. She smiles and breaks away. She looks me in the eyes and smiles.
"Colby, let's go to my bedroom. It would be comfier and warmer." I smile and lift her up. I knew where her bedroom was because I've been in it before.
I place her on the bed and crouch over her. She wraps her legs around my torso and pulls herself towards me. She locks lips again with me and I kiss her back.
I may have found it.
I may have just found the one.
