I laid down on the grass near the bridge. I started reading my book. The air swept over my face and into my lungs. The wind whistled in the trees. The birds tweeted in my ears. The sun glistened in my eyes. Paper flicked in my hands. Apple juice flowed into my mouth. I breathed in the cool crisp autumn air. All five of my sense are alive and working. I heard the soft crunching of someone walking. I looked up and turned my head. Rhett is walking towards me. I stood up and out my book and my apple juice in my bag and walked down the grass. "Hey Lucille are you coming to the tree house to?" He said. I shook my head and continued walking away from him. "Hey where are you going?" He said. "Away" I said walking across the bridge and to the other grass hill across the bridge. "Why?" He said. "My life is the worst it could ever be" I said. "So why stay indoors and be with the people who are making your life a misery" I said. Rhett's face went bland and he stared at me. "Why are you here?" I said. "My parents said I can go to the bridge for 20 minutes yen I have to come straight back" he said putting his hands in his pockets. "You?" He said. "I snuck out" I said lying down and getting my book and apple juice out again. "I'm sorry about yesterday I hope you are ok" he said. I put my book on my chest and looked at Rhett. "I tried going into the girls bathroom to talk to you but they wouldn't let me" he said. A tear rolled onto my shirt gently. He ran over to me and put his lips gently against mine. I pulled away and stood up. "Rhett!" I yelled. His cheeks turned pink. "I'm sorry I had to" he said before running away. ( That escalated quickly 😂😑). I left there standing tear stained and heart broken. What if Rhett's the perfect guy? Is it worth a try?..
