Chapter 25: Happy Again?

Link played the song in command 7 times. It's just so sweet and the tune of the guitar and his voice go perfect together. We sat back on the couch and looked at each other. I remembered the time when link first kissed me. "Why did you kiss me when we were 6 don't you think we were to young?" I said. Link stared into my eyes that were glistening in the afternoon sun. "I kissed you because I didn't just have the urge to I also needed to" Link said holding both of my hands. I smiled as a few tears fluttered on my eyelashes. We sat there looking at each other for ages until I heard a knock on the door. I got up and hopped to the door. Pftt I can't believe my mother wouldn't even come to the door. I opened it. There standing is Aylin and Kali with tear stained cheeks. They reached in and hugged me, dropping a box wrapped in polka dot wrapping paper. As we all let go of each other Aylin and Kali picked up the box and handed it to me as we all sat on the couch next to link. As I tore piece after piece of the wrapping paper off excited to see what it is I heard a noise coming from my mothers office. I stopped tearing. I stared at the living room mantel piece for a second then continued unwrapping. When all the wrapping paper was surrounded around me I opened the box. As I opened it excitement rose inside me. My smile stretched wider when I opened the box. It's a plush toy of a panda holding a heart saying "Friends Forever". I hugged both of the girls and put the panda on my bedroom mantel. We all chatted and I introduced Link to the girls. "Nice to meet you Link" Aylin and Kali said shaking Link's hand. I smiled. All of us four walked up to my room and continued chatting, sitting on my floor. "Wow lovely flowers Lucy where did you get them?" Kali said smelling the sweet scent of my roses. "Oh Rhett gave them to me" I said smiling. Kali's face turned to a "oh" look. "It's ok we are just friends" I said. Kali turned around and looked at us and said "oh oh yeah I know". She fake smiled. Poor Kali. "Kali it's ok he has feelings for you not me" I said. Kali nodded and smiled. Awkward. After about a minute Aylin finally spoke. "Oh it's 5:30 me and Kali really should be going we hope you get better soon Lucy and I hope you enjoy your panda" Aylin said as she grabbed Kali's hand and they walked quickly out of my room as me and link waved awkwardly. As the girls left link looked at me. "Well that escalated quickly" he said. We laughed and went downstairs. As we walked and hopped down the stairs I hopped past my mothers office. Her face glued to the computer screen and bills towering over her head. I kinda feel bad for her. I went in and kissed her head then followed link. She looked at me and gave me a small smile. I gave her one back and left to the front porch with link...

6:30pm

"Link you're my sunshine" I said cuddling into his soft warm beating chest on the porch couch. "You're the one hope of sun on a stormy day" Link said back as we chuckled. "Why does the word sun sound so romantic?" I said as the sun started to set. "Because you're the sun" link said as my sun stretched across my face. "I feel safe and sound when I'm with you" link said. "Ditto" I said. "Safe and sound could be "our song"" I said.
