Chapter 38: Back At Home

I hopped out the car with link. Snow flakes sprinkled down gently from the sky. Link walked over to me and I snuggled into him. My mother locked the car and opened the door for us then closed it behind her. "I'll be in my office again if you need anything call my name" my mother said dully and walking into her office. Me and link turned the heater on. Ahhh. I breathed in fresh cold now becoming warm crisp air. The hospital air was all cold and then stuffy and hot and it smelt a bit like smoke because of lung cancer patients. I'm just glad to be home with "my boy". I turned the TV on and walked to the little closet in the living room. The tv blared. Link turned the volume down quickly then we both laughed. I grabbed a nice soft frilly blanket from the closet and snuggled up on the couch with link. He helped me fold out the little bed that's also a couch. We put pillows there and then link laid down. I used links chest as a pillow. I cuddled into him as we flicked through tv channels deciding on what we want to watch. We eventually decided to watch A Love Story. Link said it was fine by him he grew up with 4 sisters so he had to get use to it anyway. I giggled and pressed play. My mother walked into the kitchen and turned the kettle on. The next thing she did shocked me a lot. She walked over and kissed my forehead then went back to the kitchen. I sat up and stared at her. Is this still real life!? She looked at me and smiled then went back to making something. I smiled then put my head back on links chest. A couple of minutes later my mother cam out with hot coco for us since its -20! We thanked her then continued watching the movie. Half way through it I fell asleep. Links heart beat soothed me. "Lucy lucy" someone said. I think it's link because my mother doesn't call me Lucy remember.
I opened my eyes and blinked. It is my mother. Why is she being so nice? I sat up. Link is still awake. "I'm sorry to wake you but you need your medicine" she said. I nodded and swallowed down 3 orange pills followed by some water. I laid back down. Link started storming my hair. Hmmm I love it when he strokes my hair. We watched the rest of the movie in peace. No worries. No cares. No fights. Just us. I sat up and kissed link. I didn't realise but at the same time on the movie the girl kissed the boy to. Sun shone in links eyes and turned them a even brighter blue. We kissed for felt like forever and this time I mean it...
